Big Mac

I’m Mac, Big Mac. I’m a big boy, weighing in at 80+ lbs and I’m about 3 years old. I was rescued as a puppy from a shelter in Nashville, so my breed is a pure guess.

I know all my basic commands and have very good recall. If you put me in a sit/lie down position, I will wait until you say “release” before moving.

I love getting head scratches and leaning against you to get petted.

I almost never bark and get along with other dogs (off leash). I do enjoying playing rough with them.

Indoors, I am generally mellow and relaxed. I love humans of all ages. Great with kids.

I’ve had the same home for 3 years, but it’s become clear to them that they can’t give me the stimulation I need and deserve.

If I’m left alone too long, I will get into stuff and chew them up (books, pens, possibly your remote, stuff of that nature). It’s a bit of separation anxiety that can be resolved if I get enough outside off-leash time. Then I am a model citizen!

However, when on leash, I can sometimes be reactive when walking too close to other dogs.

With proper redirection and positive reinforcement, I can be good.

My ideal home would be able to offer me a very active, outdoorsy lifestyle, allowing me to spend time outside.

If you are looking for a hiking buddy, a mountaineering sidekick, and a friend to curl up by the fire next to you, I may be the one!

Big Billy

I’m Big Billy, a less than two year old dude sold as a Miniature Pinscher. I’m sure one of my parents or ancestors was, but I’m really big for a min pin! Very slim, but very tall.

I have super long legs and huge ears. The rest of me is pretty much a miniature pinscher but I obviously don’t come from an ethical breeder.

I’m super friendly, playful, get along great with dogs, housetrained, quiet and generally a good dog.

I’m looking for my third and final home, not by any fault of mine. Life in Quebec is hard on us dogs, we’re lucky if we stay our whole life in one home.

I love going for walks, car rides, playdates in the park, and would probably love having a family with kids.

If you feel I could be the one to share your life for at least the next decade and more (I could live to be 16-19 ), send in your application.

Elvis

I’m Elvis, and I need a compassionate person to take care of me in my old age.

I’m a 14 year old Chihuahua and I’m partially handicapped due to a back problem 7 years ago.

I have a hard time standing up from a sitting position, my back legs don’t follow properly and often wobble and I fall.

Because of this, I don’t get to the pee pad in time anymore, so I may need to wear belly bands as I don’t necessarily control it.

The main problems is pooping. I can’t stand in “position” so I do it while laying down.

Obviously I need a full time care giver. My teeth are getting done at the vet as I love giving kisses, and being with someone. Not much else I can do at my age 😢.

I’m also getting hard of hearing if not completely deaf. If you give me a home, I will be forever grateful. I have another few years ahead of me, I want to be loved again.

To apply, visit http://www.sophiesdogadoption.com/application-forms/adoption-form/ and follow the procedure to obtain an application form.

Lucky Doodle

I’m Lucky Doodle, a 1 year old golden/poodle mix, and I’m already looking for a new home.

I was purchased as a puppy, but having a young family, they were not able to take the time to work with me.

So it didn’t take long before I became a little bossy. Food is mine (on counters, on the floor, in my bowl or in the kid’s hands), and I will snap if you try to take it from me.

It also became “my” house, so strangers were not welcome. I would bark at them until they realize I don’t like them.

I’m super friendly, funny, active and would love nothing more than a structured, active family or person. Family would mean kids over 12, but ideally a couple or active person would suit me just fine.

If you think I could be for you, you are willing to invest time and possibly money to get me behaving like a good canine citizen, then put in your application. I will b forever grateful to find the right home for me.

To apply, visit http://www.sophiesdogadoption.com/application-forms/adoption-form/ and follow the procedure to obtain an application form.

Rejean

I’ve been named Rejean, and I’m a little over a year old. I weigh about 20 lbs.

I’m most likely a Schnauzer mix, but could be a “doodle”. Either way, I don’t shed, but I do require grooming.

I’m a people pleaser, friendly, engaging and happy go lucky.

I’ve been a little “spoiled” as my dad gave me human food instead of dog food. I will be picky, but you’ll need to be consistent if you want me to be well raised and eat what’s in my bowl!

I am looking for structure, love, and a family for the rest of my life. I’m still very young, and part of the statistics of Quebec, where people dump their pets within 2 years. I want a real home, not a temporary one.

I’m a companion, a friend, a member of your family. If you’re ready to adopt for life, put in your application!

To apply, visit http://www.sophiesdogadoption.com/application-forms/adoption-form/ and follow the procedure to obtain an application form.

Tinto

My name is Tinto, I’m a 8 year old Chihuahua mix. I’m quite tall and about 15 lbs.

I get along with female dogs, but can be selective about males. I tend to be more dominant with males.

I can stay home alone, housetrained, affectionate and friendly.

I’m looking for a forever home, I lost mine because the family had babies, and it stressed me out.

So if you’re not planning on having babies and want me to become a member of your family, I’ll be in Heaven.

I’m looking for a loving family/person who will commit for the rest of my life.

To apply, visit http://www.sophiesdogadoption.com/application-forms/adoption-form/ and follow the procedure to obtain an application form.

Choochoo

My name is Choochoo, I’m a 7 year old Shih Tzu. I am looking for a new home following the passing of my dad.

I am the sweetest boy you’ll ever meet, I love people and being the center of attention.

Since dad’s passing, I was living with a family member, but I’m not a good candidate for apartment life.

You see, my dad spoiled me, and never left me alone. So when I’m all alone, I will cry and bark until I realize you’re really gone.

I am looking for love and attention, and will bark to let you know what I “need”. Food, water, toys…. That’s what I live for.

I am great with kids, old folks, basically anyone. And I’m pretty small, under 15lbs, but short legged!

I do, however, suffer from food allergies so I must be kept on a very strict diet. No chicken, ideally no corn. For now I’m on vet food, but holistic/natural foods can be very good too .

If you live in a house and want a companion like me, you know what to do.

To apply, visit http://www.sophiesdogadoption.com/application-forms/adoption-form/ and follow the procedure to obtain an application form.

Moka 2

I’m Moka 2, a sweet little 7 year old girl.

I’m a Pomeranian, my coat is super soft and silky, and I truly am a darling.

I’m looking for a new home following a separation. I’m great with all dogs, friendly with people, very healthy and looking for a new family to love me forever.

I can stay alone, I’m housetrained and pee pad trained as well. I’m a very mellow, low energy dog.

If you’d like to give me that home, visit http://www.sophiesdogadoption.com/application-forms/adoption-form/ and follow the procedure to obtain an application form.

Toffee

I’m Toffee, and I’m an 8 year old miniature poodle.

My original family moved to Vietnam and I was taken in by a friend as they were going to send me to the SPCA.

However, here we are a year later and I’m looking for the right home.

I’m good with other dogs, great with people, able to stay alone and generally a sweet dog.

If you think you’d like me, put in an application.

Rex B

I’m Rex B, and here’s my story: I’m originally from the streets of Lebanon, and I was rescued and adopted in Canada during the “international adoption” phase that happened between 2020 and 2022.

Unfortunately, these good souls in Lebanon who made us come to this wonderful country, were not aware that the Quebec Statistics for “keeping” us in a home are less than 2 years.

So here I am, a “statistic” of La Belle Province, and I am looking for a new home. I arrived here in 2022 as a teen pup, and after being in a home for over a year, I was surrendered because I was always a little “growly” and I bit a 3 month old puppy. This pup came to be fostered, and I didn’t necessarily want to share. I already had a “brother” that I liked to dominate a bit. So when I bit her, my dad got mad and kicked my bed in anger. My mom then thought it was better to send me away immediately.

I’m super friendly, great in the house, get along with dogs but do have some resource guarding around my food.

I can be your best friend for life, if you’ll have me for the rest of my life, which I hope will be at least 10 years.

I don’t want to bounce all over Quebec, I want a permanent home. I’m a Shepherd mixed with dozens of other breeds, your fun will be to guess what mixes my descendants might have been.

If you think you’d like to meet me and see if we “click”, the first step is to obtain an application The first step is to obtain an application form at http://www.sophiesdogadoption.com/application-forms/adoption-form/ and follow the procedure to obtain an application form.

Oliver B

My name is Oliver, and I’m just an amazing dog…

I love people (some say too much) as I just adore kisses! I can’t stop kissing unless you push me away.

I’m as goofy and sweet as a dog can get. I will become your best friend.

I’m a 4 year old pointer mix who comes from Lebanon. I didn’t have it easy back home, but I’m looking for a happy future.

I’m amazing with people, my charm is what helped me get food back on the streets.

Now, I’m hoping for a home. A real home for life.

I’m great with dogs and get along with cats. I’m fully housetrained, walk great on leash and can stay alone.

Ideally, if you have a fenced backyard and kids, or if you’re an active person, I could be the ideal companion.

To apply, visit http://www.sophiesdogadoption.com/application-forms/adoption-form/ and follow the procedure to obtain an application form.

Tweety

I’m Tweety, and I’m a girl despite my name!  Someone chose it for me.

You see, I’m a dog rescued as a puppy from the streets of Lebanon. The family brought me home, raised me, and decided to give me a new life here in Canada. I loved growing up here!

But their new life became too “busy” with me in it, and after several months, came to the conclusion I needed a new home to “flourish” in.

I’m under 2 years old and most likely a Collie mix. I get along generally well with other dogs, but I do have a bit of resource guarding around other dogs.

I am friendly, affectionate, well behaved though some things need a bit of work like learning to walk well on leash.

If you think you have what it takes to be my FOREVER home, not just for a couple of years, put in your application.

To apply, visit http://www.sophiesdogadoption.com/application-forms/adoption-form/ and follow the procedure to obtain an application form.

Maple

My name is Maple, and I’m an international adoption that didn’t work out, so I’m still looking for that special family.

I’m from Lebanon, and I’ve been here a year now, looking to find the right home.

I’m a mix of unknown origin as I was found on the streets. I’m about 3 years old, and a very sweet girl, weighing about 70 lbs.

I’m an active girl, but still very nervous around new things. However I’m super friendly and love all people. I’m looking for an energetic family as I love to run, play and spend time with my people.

I’m in a foster home with kids, dogs and Guinea pigs and love everyone. I’m easily adaptable to new situations, I’m even crate trained.

If you’d like to know me better to see if we could be “partners”, start by getting a form and go from there.

To apply, visit http://www.sophiesdogadoption.com/application-forms/adoption-form/ and follow the procedure to obtain an application form.

Daisy Duke

I’m Daisy Duke, a 7 year old daschund/chihuahua mix.

I’m sweet as can be, very quiet, live everyone and everything.

My old dad has gotten sick and could no longer care for me, do I was brought to Sophie’s Dog Adoption.

I’m a little chunky as I was used to eating table scraps but have been trimming down.

I’m healthy, love going for walks, quiet and housetrained. What more can you get? I’m the ideal companion for anyone.

If you think I could become your soulmate, put in an application!

Augustus

I’ve been named Augustus, because I was saved in August.

You see, I’m a 10 month old, male, puppymill dog and my life could have been been very different than what I will get to experience now.

I’m supposed to be a Lhasa Apso mix, but I’m too tall. I weigh about 20 lbs as I’m rather slim. I could have some Schnauzer, it’s a guess.

I had hair pretty long hair however I needed a grooming and a fresh start, so we’re letting my hair grow in nicely. You’ll need to brush me regularly if you want me to look good!

I’m ok with other dogs. I’m in a foster home and making progress every day. I’m getting a little better at discovering this freedom and new experiences.

I’m still a little uncomfortable sometimes. I need a confident leader to show me what to do. I’m good at doing my business outside but still have some occasional accidents.

I’m not dominant at all with other dogs but I’m not submissive either. I’m good at communicating if I need space.

I don’t trust people much yet, so I avoid contact for now but my foster mom says I have so much potential.

I need to be exposed to everyone and everything. I’m very brave and want to learn and experience life.

I just need someone to show me the world and work with me.

I dont react to cats and I don’t bark…for now. Only when I’m a little scared. I have no separation anxiety so you’ll need to NOT “feel sorry” for me and render me needy for your presence. I’m crate trained (duh) and totally clean in it.

If you think I could be the one, put in your application.

To apply, visit http://www.sophiesdogadoption.com/application-forms/adoption-form/ and follow the procedure to obtain an application form.

Tino the Tripod

My name is Tino and I’m a tripod. I came to this beautiful country just before the ban so I’ve been waiting for my new home for a year now. I was about 2 years old, so that makes me almost 3 years old now.

I’m a beautiful mutt, a common street dog, from Lebanon, and some idiot decided to hit me with his car.  It’s kind of a “sport” over there. Thankfully someone witnessed it, and rescued me.

My leg couldn’t be saved, so amputation was the way to go. And “go”, I can! You’d never know I am missing a leg. I can run, play, jump, climb stairs, just like any other smart dog.

I’m an active dog who LOVES people, I greet everyone who comes over and I have a lovely goofy side! I even sing karaoke with my foster mom! We can also do “car karaoke” since I adore going for rides.

Even though I’m a sweetheart and very affectionate, I am jealous and protective when it comes to other pets. I don’t want to share my human with another dog, and certainly NOT a cat. Therefore it is best that I be “the” dog in your life. Kids can be a part of that, if they’re gentle and dog savvy.

I can stay home while you’re gone, and my big voice would scare a robber.  Of course I know that my bathroom is outdoors, so no worries there.

My one and only FAULT, I’m strong. Walking me can be challenging especially if I see dogs, squirrels or other critters on my walks. I’m a big strong boy, so you need to be stronger or willing to teach me. It won’t get better without help! I’d rather run around free, but in this free world, I need to be on a leash I can’t run free. The irony 🤣.

I’ll make you laugh, I’ll keep you warm, I’ll be your best friend if you give me that chance.

To apply, visit http://www.sophiesdogadoption.com/application-forms/adoption-form/ and follow the procedure to obtain an application form.

Pawla

My name is Pawla, and I’m a street dog from Morocco.

I was rescued by a lady who used to feed stray cats, when she noticed me, a young puppy, coming around to get some food too.

It was obvious I had a bad leg, a break that healed on its own. So she took me off the streets and eventually arranged for me to come to Canada.

I’ve been here for a while but nobody really worked on my socialization so Sophie’s Dog Adoption took me in and I am learning to go on walks outside and explore this new country.

I am very shy, still skittish of a lot, so I’m looking for a very patient person or family to slowly bring me to being a “normal” and confident girl.

I’m still young (-2 years old)and don’t have a prey drive do could live with cats or other critter.

Dogs I’m totally fine with. Having a dog friend could maybe even help me learn to be “free” of my past.

If you want more information about me you can e-mail info@sophiesdogadoption.com and to apply, visit

http://www.sophiesdogadoption.com/application-forms/adoption-form/

and follow the procedure to obtain an application form.

Lil’Bean

Hello world, I’m a puppymill rescue who’s going on 6 months old (I’m born in February) and August 1st was my first outing.

I’m very friendly, shy, but young enough to learn quickly about my surroundings.

Obviously structure will be a must as  my foster home has been working very hard with me.

I am now “housetrained”. I had never gone for a walk on a leash, but have been  learning all this in my foster home.

Sophie has called me Lil’Bean, but you can pick a better name. She just thinks I look like a cute little bean. I sure am active and bouncy, so be prepared before you even apply.

I’m possibly a Beagle mix, but it’s unknown what the mix is. I should not get much than 30 lbs though. One document says I’m a Pug mix!

Are you ready for an active puppy in your house? I’m going through the teething phase, so you’ll need lots of chew toys .

I’m being crated right now, and I would suggest you keep that up when you leave so I don’t develop separation anxiety. I don’t have “bad” habits yet, I just need to learn the right way.

To apply, visit http://www.sophiesdogadoption.com/application-forms/adoption-form/ and follow the procedure to obtain an application form.

Koukoune

I’m Koukoune, a 5-month-old toy poodle who was surrendered with a broken front paw.

I am going to the vet this week to see how I’ve healed! I’ll also be getting spayed and will be ready for a real home.

I’m super socialized, friendly and playful with all people and dogs (big and small). I’ve learned good manners while recuperating from my broken leg, and really understand dogs who “tell me to get lost”!

I’m teething right now, so need someone knowledgeable or willing to learn how to deal with that.

I’m adorable if you think I’m right for you, put in your application.

Beauty

Hi there! My name is Beauty. I’m a 10 year old Maltese/Shih Tzu mix in excellent health. Even my teeth are in great shape.

I’m a very loving and sweet girl who loves everyone. I get along ok with dogs and cats but I have been known to be a bit of a bully if they’re in my space. I also don’t like seeing dogs on leash. I can be reactive.

I am a girl who was spoiled and could do as I please, so structure is a must especially if you have pets. I can be very manipulative with my cute face, so don’t give into me!

I’m obedient, playful, engaging and eager to please. I’m so friendly in fact that I could even be one one of those dogs who qualifies to visit people in the hospital to cheer them up.

All in all, I’m still young at heart and ready to give someone new all my love.

If you think I can charm your heart, put in your application by visiting http://www.sophiesdogadoption.com/application-forms/adoption-form/ and follow the procedure to obtain an application form.
