June Boy

I’ve been named June as I was rescued from the streets of Lebanon in June of last year.

I’m a mix, possibly Norwich Terrier and/or Yorkshire terrier and probably about 7 years old.

I’m a very sweet boy, quiet, cuddly, clean, however I’m deaf. So getting my attention is with signs.

I’m looking for a home who will give me the best years of my life. I really like everybody including kids, just not crazy about cats.

If you think I’m the one for you, download the form and return it by email.

Sunny Arevic

My name is Sunny Arevic, and I’m a 3 year old Armenian rescue.
I was found on the streets in pretty bad shape, one eye needed to be removed and the other one sees nothing. So I am blind, but you would never know it.

I am very sweet, quiet, playful and super affectionate. I can do stairs, can get around with no problems and even do pretty well on a leash.
I’m a mix, maybe corgi mix from my size and shape.

If you think I’m the girl for you, please download and return the application form.

Leo B

Hi there! My name is Leo B. I came from Lebanon where I was found in a certain state of neglect. I went to a shelter where they realized I didn’t belong there. So I was offered the chance of Canadian life, and I jumped on the occasion. So here I am looking for love again. I’m young, probably a little over a year old, so be ready to have me for the next 15 years.

I’m good with dogs but have not tested with cats or other small pets. As for children, very dog-savvy kids 10 years and up could do. I’m very quick to bond with my humans. As cute as I may be, it’s important not to let me follow you around everywhere. Don’t let me become a needy and insecure little guy, please.

Lilly Rose

Meet Lilly Rose everybody! This spunky Bully girl is currently just a little over 4 months old. Here is her bio…

Lilly is still a puppy but is thriving. She looks at us with soft eyes now, happy to listen for the most part, after all she is a puppy, is doing well chewing her toys and not other things, waits to be invited on the sofa or bed, waits for her food to be placed in front of her, learning to pee outside, also learning how to understand other dogs, not being afraid of certain noise and learning the crate can be a good place to be at times.

Lilly Rose needs to continue with her training, it is crucial for her well being. She is all muscle and will grow to be over 60bls of muscle. Her walking needs to be on point.

Whoever gets this amazing girl to be part of their famiy can expect lots of cuddles and and a very playful girl. She certainly is special and will be so happy to be in her forever home.

Oakly

Hi everyone! my name is Oakley. I’m a 7-year-old mixed-breed male. ( Best guess: Husky/Shepard mix perhaps with some Rottweiler ). I weigh 70 lbs and I’m looking to find my forever home for the 3 rd time now.

I was adopted back in 2017 but originally came from the Great North of Québec where there are many strays like me to rescue and find loving homes for.

My family discovered that I’m not at all comfortable around the new child in the home now that he is starting to crawl. I’ve even nipped a couple of times. It was over toys on the floor. So for that reason, they have decided to return me. I’m a sweet pooch aside from that. Structure, stability, and regular exercise are a must for me. I need a peaceful home.

My new home will need to be dog-savvy, pet-free, and child-free. A securely fenced yard would be ideal for me since I love the outdoors. I was very insecure when I was first rescued. Being moved again will be a big shock to me so I will need a patient and understanding human.

Lizzy B

I am Lizzie B, I was rescued from the streets of Lebanon after having been shot in the face while pregnant.

Unfortunately, my pups died before I could deliver them, but thankfully I was rescued and brought to a vet.

My sight could not be saved and have become blind as a result. I’m about 2 years old and gentle as can be. I need time to adapt to new environments, but with patience and love, I will get more confident.

I’m good with other dogs, preferably calm dogs, and cats don’t really bother me. I’m not ideal for kids unless they are over 12 yrs old and dog-savvy. I need a calm and peaceful home. Aside from being blind, I am in good health.

I may be a shepherd mix, who knows, I can’t tell because I’m blind. I’m still beautiful, both inside and out. I love being loved.

Ideally, I’m looking for someone who does NOT plan on taking me for walks on a leash. I’m very scared and don’t like to leave the property. I also really hate being left home alone.

So a ground floor and a yard are a MUST. Kids are fine if they want to give me love. But I’m not much of a “play buddy”. No ball fetching or running around for me.

Dogs I can get along with, but I need to establish my rules when it comes to food.

If you want a cuddly, affectionate, loving dog, give me a shout! But be patient, I’ll need to trust you fully before I’ll commit.

Jerry

Jerry was rescued back in Lebanon when he was a puppy. He was one of the lucky few to get selected to fly over to Montreal and join Sophie’s Dog Adoption. Jerry is a gorgeous Husky with one blue eye and one blue and brown eye. Pretty cool eh? He was adopted back in January 2022 but is now being returned to us because he doesn’t like being left home alone.

He’s now about 18 months but still acts very much like an unruly puppy at times. He uses his mouth when he gets excited. He has a lot of energy so an active human is a must for Jerry. His training needs work. He is not for the first time dog owner.

If you have a home with a secured yard, decent dog training experience and plenty of time to give to Jerry then you just might be the ideal person to adopt him.

Daily exercise, structure, rules and boundaries are very important in order to get his anxiety under control. Jerry is extremely bright and eager to please. He’s highly food motivated and very curious. He should be crated when you leave him home alone. He loves the outdoors and is super cuddly.

Spark

I’m Spark, and I was named that by my rescuers as they could see that spark in my eyes.

I come from the streets of Lebanon where I was terribly abused as well as having had my mouth wired shut. It left a scar on my muzzle.

I’m about 2 yrs old, but act very much like a 9 month old who needs training. I needed to learn stuff like not jumping, no grabbing, no counter surfing. No using my mouth when I get excited and getting used to meeting new people in a non-threanening manner. Thanks to my foster mom, my manners are now much better.

I still need training on walks as I can be reactive at the sight of other people and dogs when on leash. Inside however, once I’m well- exercised, I am just a big old cuddle bug who wants only to please you and shower you with love.

I love to be outside despite my origins, I have learned to love this white fluffy stuff you call snow!

Ideally, I would love to live on the outskirts of the city, and a nice yard would be great. If not, be prepared to give me lots of outdoor time.

I’m good with other large dogs, so one to play with could be fun, but no kids or cats as I’m not the most gentle right now. My new home should be calm, structured and dog-savvy.

Here is what my foster mom has to say about me:
“Spark is an active dog. Very smart and a fast learner. He is full of love. He loves being cuddled but prefers playing outside. He doesn’t like to be left alone and he always wants to make sure you’re around him.
He’s fearful from cars and people he doesn’t know”.

Chico Chi 2

Hi there! My name is Chico Chi 2. I’m about 6 yrs old, weigh around 10 lbs and am in good health aside from having terrible teeth right now. Sophie will be getting a dental cleaning and some extractions done for me asap.

My brother Pepito and I were surrendered to SDA because our human could no longer keep us due to circumstances out of her control. She was incredibly devasted to have to let us go but knew SDA would find us the perfect new forever homes.

I’m a great little dude. I get along well with other small dogs but I’m not really interested in the big ones. I just don’t care much if they invade my space and will snarl a bit to let them know to back off. As for cats, I totally ignore them. I’m good with kids granted they handle me with great care. A little thing like me could easily get injured if dropped or manipulated too roughly.

I’m not much of a barker. I only tend to bark if other dogs are barking but I also sometimes bark at the TV. Hee hee! I’m a quirky little fellow at times. I have learned to ditch the pipi pads in my foster home and now ask for the door. That being said, I may still have an accident from time to time if you have something that looks like a pipi pad to me in your home.

My ideal home should make to sure to take excellent care of my mouth by brushing my teeth and gums on a regular basis and providing me with dental chews daily. I’m not sure yet how many teeth I will have left once I get my dental done so I may need to be on moist food for a while after that. I don’t appear to have any separation anxiety but I’ve never been home totally alone before. Let’s just say that it will be important not too make a big deal when you leave to go out. I would hate te develop SA and have you return me because it bothers the neighbours.

Bailey B

I’m Bailey B. Was found on the streets of Lebanon and had the wonderful opportunity to come to find a home in Canada.

Obviously, I’m a Terrier, so the attitude comes with it. I’m most likely a Beagle/Daschund mix, about 5 years old. I do like kids, and love attention and affection, but also a little spoiled. So no small children for me, please. Mature and dog-savvy kids over 10 could do. No cats or other small pets. I am dog selective so a proper intro is a must.

I can nip at you if you do stuff I don’t like and can be dominant in play. So ideally an experienced family with my type of breed would be best. However I’m not a very active dog, so I don’t like biking, jogging, or long walks for me. Regular daily exercise and plenty of mental stimulation will keep me happy. My new home must absolutely offer me a great deal of structure. That means not letting me up on the couch or bed without your permission. I can be quite manipulative so it’s important you set the tone for me the moment I arrive. You’re in charge, not me.

If you think I’m the pooch for you and you’re ready to commit to my well-being for the rest of my life, fill in your application!

Jackson B

My name is Jackson B, and I was rescued from the streets of Beirut. I weigh 75 lbs, probably a husky mix and approximately 5 years old

My energy is low-medium. I’m lazy inside but love my walks and even enjoy a light jog.

I LOVE playing with other dogs, my tail is like a helicopter. I adore the dog park. I’m also very friendly with strangers.

My foster mom works all day and I am free to roam in the apartment. I’m not at all destructive and my adorable face is waiting in the window when she comes home.

I LOVE car rides and sticking my head out the window (while safely attached). I get smiles and ‘awwwws’ from everyone we pass – even people in bumper to bumper traffic which is saying something!

I can live in an apartment. I’m not allowed on the furniture and respect that even when you’re not home (as long as I have a comfy bed to myself).

I am NOT ok with cats, but fine  with dog-savvy children over the age of 10. However, I am very strong, so must be supervised properly.

I am ALMOST the perfect dog.

I’m  such a sweetheart 99.9% of time. The 0.1% comes out when I REALLY want something and you’re standing in my way.  If you hold your ground while keeping a safe distance, I relent. This isn’t every time you try to set boundaries, it happens very very rarely and it would be unfortunate to judge me too harshly because of it…

All in all I’m a great dog, but I’m looking for someone who will not be intimidated by my antics.

If you think you’re the one for me, download and return an application.

Chance B

Hello, my name is Chance B.

I am a 5-year-old female American Pitbull Terrier-American Bulldog mix.
I weigh about 50 lbs and I’m in good health.

I am an amazing girl originally rescued in Lebanon and I’m now looking for my forever home here in Montreal.

I am quite shy at first but once I start trusting you I love giving hugs and will be your best friend. I will follow your lead and make sure you’re safe.

I don’t pull on walks but I do run after squirrels and cats. While I walk, my attention stays on who is walking me. I don’t bark except when I play with my doggy friends.

I love going to the dog park and making new friends .

I run as if I was still a puppy. I’m still quite young at only 5 years old and need my daily exercise.

I am house-trained and wait for you to get up so we can take a nice morning walk. I love car rides.

I am incredibly sweet and bright. Very eager to please and engaging. To know me is to love me. I have displayed some prey drive when I see cats or squirrels on my walks so I would not be a good match to live with small animals. I have not displayed any type of resource guarding.

If you have good knowledge of my breed and decent dog training experience, I just might be the ideal pooch for you. If you’re ready to commit to my well-being for the rest of my life.

Mimi Chi

Mimi Chi - 2

Mimi Chi is a 7 year old female Chihuahua. She was an indoor dog who never went out other than the yard. Never received any training either and was very spoiled and over fed. She weighs 9 pounds, which is too heavy for her delicate frame and so, she should go down in weight to about 6 or 7 pounds.

Mimi is now thriving in foster care. She’s a happy-go-lucky little clown. She is quite funny and knows it. If a dog can have a sense of humour, she’s got it! You just can tell that she loves to make people laugh.

Her overall disposition is simply exquisite; she is loving, affectionate, sweet, cuddly, eager to please, curious, bouncy, in other words, she is infinitely adorable and you just want to kiss her face raw.

She is trained on a pipipad but will do her business outside if you make it available to her. She tends to mark so keeping a couple of pads out for her convenience is good strategy.

After a while and getting used to new surroundings, she figures her way around the house.

Mimi loves her daily walks and it’s even better when her foster brothers come along.

She is very much scent oriented, she loves those new smells!

Leash walking is a skill she still has to perfect, but she is one smart cookie and will do whatever it takes to come along on that walk. She already knows to stay still while the leash is being put on and she’ll help along with her harness by putting her little head through the opening and lifting her paws. She knows what it all means.

Cats, birds and squirrels are fun to chase off the property. She may be small in size but not in spirit!

She is crate-trained and will go willingly in her cage for the night.

She has a good recall but sometimes the scent is just too enticing so mom will just have to wait a little.

She is not all that into toys, she prefers cuddles and kisses.
She is friendly with people when she meets them inside her home, she is a bit more skittish of them outside the house.

Her breathing is laborious, especially when she gets excited but as she loses that extra weight, it’ll get better.

She’s a picky eater courtesy of her previous feeding habits which consisted of pasta and tomato sauce and pretty much whatever her previous owner prepared for her but once a routine is established, she’ll thrive. She can be barky, she thinks she’s a guard dog after all, but not overly so.

Mimi is a total sweetheart and anybody would be lucky to have her.

Keeping her fit and slim will go a long way for her health. Sophie will have her teeth cleaned when she gets spayed and vaccinated asap. Keeping Mimi on a healthy diet with good quality food and providing her with proper oral maintenance is a must. No more getting spoiled rotten for Mimi. It’s time to be a real dog and enjoy lots of love as much as a structured and healthy lifestyle.

If you feel you would be the ideal human for Mimi, please contact info@sophiesdogadoption.com and tell us why. Montreal and area.Mimi Chi - 2

Freedom is what I was looking for when I wandered off into the cold streets of Kuujjuarapik. Unfortunately I am just a wee girl of barely 3 months old, so luckily someone found me and decided my new life should start in Montreal.

So that’s how I got my name. I arrived at the airport like a big girl, all by myself, but Sophie was there to pick me up and bring me home.

My mix is a pure guess, but seeing that my friendly home town mostly has Labradors, Huskies and Shepherds, chances are my folks were a mix of those breeds. But you never know, I have big feet, I could have a larger breed in my family line, maybe like a Bernese Mountain Dog. Who really know?.

Sophie says we’ll have a better idea once I mature a little. Will my ears stay down, will they be up, will one be up and one down? My future looks are yet to see, but my future looks pretty good!https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JjO68GwsAYE
