Bravy

I was named Bravy by my rescuer in Lebanon!

I’m a 6 year old female Lab mix. I was found in Lebanon as a stray, and I don’t remember my past, but I know for sure I have been through a lot.

As a stray in Lebanon, I was used for target practice and became blind in one eye. I have to tell you that I get around very well, it doesn’t affect me, just my look.

I walk fairly well on leash, I’m housetrained, I do well with people and dogs, but have not been tested with cats.

I also love car rides and have no problems getting around.

I love the attention, so I can be a bit jealous if other dogs are around, so I would prefer to be the only pet! I love playing with other dogs, but I don’t want a roommate.

If you want to make me part of your family, visit http://www.sophiesdogadoption.com/application-forms/adoption-form/ and follow the procedure to obtain an application form.

Barney

Hello there hoomans! My name is Barney and I’m a 10 yr old Yorkie in excellent health. Even my teeth look good! I’m as sweet as I am cute and I’m a very good boy with other dogs and everyone I meet. As for cats, I would only be suitable to live with them if they are already used to dogs. I walk well on leash, I am not a barker inside nor do I bark at people or dogs I see outside but stray cats are another thing, I can stay home alone and I have absolutely no behavioural issues. I love car rides and playing with my squeaky toys. If you say the word TREAT, I’m all ears!

I used to live in a very peaceful home with an elderly lady who adored me and took pristine care of me. My new home should be one where I will be able to live out my golden years in peace and comfort. I’m used to pipi pads but only need them at night or when you leave. I will ask for the door when you’re home like a big boy. Keep in mind us older dogs need to go potty several times a day. Sometimes, I just ask for the door because I love spending time in the yard and chase squirrels. LOL! I also come with a few adorable coats and sweaters. I love getting dressed up because I know when I look extra cute.

Gizmo 4

I’m Gizmo 4, and I’m a 3 year old Schnauzer mix of sorts.

My human mom recently passed away and my dad is going into a nursing home as he is unable to care for himself, nor me.

So I’m with Sophie’s Dog Adoption looking for a new home to call mine.

I’m a great little dog, good with my foster mom’s child, good with the other dogs and pretty much a loving  dog.

If you’d like to get to know me better, put in an application and you’ll get to know me before making a decision.

Sia

My name is SIA and I am deaf but that doesn’t lit me.

I’m a 2.5-year-old English Setter who came from Lebanon where I was found tied in a bag, and thrown away like a piece of garbage, possibly because I was not a good working dog. I am extremely sweet despite my unknown past and my fur is as soft as velvet!

I’m an eager girl, social with people, kids and most dogs, (but can be in my own world sniffing and exploring).

I enjoy playtime and cuddles and make my foster family laugh every day with my silliness.

I currently live with a dog-savvy cat and the cat is the boss in our relationship. If there is a cat in my new family, please know it will take me time to work out our relationship.

I am house-trained, but I have my routine outside and need time to relax to do my thing. I would thrive in an active home that can provide me with ongoing structure and training.

Hiking, biking, and brain games would all make me a very happy girl.

I would make a good family dog with older kids, or with a couple. I am very food-driven which makes training easy. However, when I’m outside, the distractions can be too much for me to focus and may choose to not obey.

A securely fenced yard is a must for me as Setters are known to follow our noses if left unattended. Knowing my breed would be an asset to my new family!

If you think you’d like to give me a chance despite my hearing loss, visit http://www.sophiesdogadoption.com/application-forms/adoption-form/ and follow the procedure to obtain an application form.

Alegria

I’ve been named Alegria, I’m a 9-month-old female Chihuahua pup (possible deer-head mix), and I’m looking for a home filled with structure and love.

I’m very energetic but loyal once I get to know you. I’m house-trained and will remind you when I’m due to go outside.

I really enjoy being rubbed behind the ears, giving you a smile, with closed eyes, full of satisfaction.

Outside strolls give me a lot to explore and smell, and I’m always ready to go.

I do get super excited when I see people and need to continue working on my manners. As for car rides, I have become a pro at being a backseat companion.

As with most chihuahuas, I can become attached to my human and will be very alert to anyone or anything coming near.

I’m slowly enjoying the security of my crate when it’s time to relax, but I do have separation anxiety, which my fosters have been working on. However, it’s a work in progress, so you will need to continue the work as I was very “spoiled” in my first home and have become needy for human companionship.

It is the hope of my foster mom that I touch and melt your heart the way I touched theirs. They will never forget me, that’s for sure!

If you think I could be your next best friend, visit http://www.sophiesdogadoption.com/application-forms/adoption-form/ and follow the procedure to obtain an application form.

Choopie

My name is Choopie, and I’m a male. I’m 3 years old and of the Spitz family.

I came from Lebanon back in 2021 as an International adoption, but here we are, two and a half years later and I’m looking for a new home.

I’m super cute, super friendly with everyone, great with dogs and even young kids. But I can easily become the “boss” if you let me.

Us little cuties know how to manipulate and use our teeth when we’re not happy. So structure, discipline and rules MUST be established when I move in.

I’m learning while in foster care, but you will need to continue with the structure. I’m small enough to not overpower you, so teach me right from wrong and I’ll make you proud.

As all dogs do, I want to make you happy and become your best friend. But just like children, I need structure and discipline as well as love.

If you want me to be your best friend, visit http://www.sophiesdogadoption.com/application-forms/adoption-form/ and follow the procedure to obtain an application form.

Moose

My name is Moose, and I’m a 1 year old Great Dane.

I’m on the smaller size at 120lbs, but still imposing!

I’m super great with kids, but due to my size and young age, no babies or toddlers.

I’m used to living with a Pug and I’m cool with cats. I’m being rehomed due to a personal family situation, and I will be greatly missed.

I’m still young and have my whole life in front of me, so please find it in your heart to give me a new home.

If you think you’d like to make me a member of your family, visit http://www.sophiesdogadoption.com/application-forms/adoption-form/ and follow the procedure to obtain an application form.

Drake

I’m Drake, and even though I’m no rapper, I too have a talent. I’m missing a leg, and I can run and play as well as anyone!

I’m a survivor of the horrendous streets of the Middle East, and I’m hoping to find a wonderful home who won’t see my missing limb as a reason to pass me up.

I’m about 3 years old, was found with my leg already missing, and it was so traumatic I cannot remember what happened! But I am a survivor and just LOVE people. My mix is totally unknown, it’s anybody’s guess. Might have a little Husky, not sure.

I’m ok with kids, super gentle and good with dogs and getting used to the cat in my foster home.

If you think you’d like to make me a member of your family, visit http://www.sophiesdogadoption.com/application-forms/adoption-form/ and follow the procedure to obtain an application form.

Big Buddy

Big Buddy is my name, and English Bulldog/French Poodle is my mix of breeds. They dared sold me as a Boodle. Such an insult.

I’m 2 years old, and a wonderful buddy to the kids in my home, but unfortunately, I do not like them bringing their friends over. I have snapped and therefore am looking for a home with a different environment.

I basically need to learn not to “protect” my house, as I’m not keen on strangers of any age coming over.

I was purchased at 7 weeks because our mom rejected us and so we were all sold at that young age.

I’m a wonderful dog, super friendly and affectionate, not at all destructive, not a barker, and live my “kid” siblings, but Dad thinks I’m just not a good fit anymore.

I need to leave soon, so please consider fostering me with or without the possibility of adoption.

To apply, visit http://www.sophiesdogadoption.com/application-forms/adoption-form/ and follow the procedure to obtain an application form.

Hawaiian Chico

Aloha Canada! I’m Hawaiian Chico, and I just arrived from a shelter in Hawaii where I spent most of my life

I’m about 3 years old, most likely a Catahoula mix, but Sophie thinks I may have some coonhound.

I’m super gentle, very shy still but doing well in my foster home, which consists of 4 humans, 4 dogs and one cat.

I would probably be fine with kids over 8, as I’m a very gentle soul.

I’m looking to finally have a home, with people who will love me forever. I’m used to getting love at the shelter, but from staff and volunteers who leave at the end of the day.

I want my own bed, my own family, my own “house” and maybe a yard. It’s the American Dream, and I think I can reach it in Canada. After all, we’re “neighbours”.

To apply, visit http://www.sophiesdogadoption.com/application-forms/adoption-form/ and follow the procedure to obtain an application form.

Jade

My name is Jade, and I’m a real gem. I’m less than two years old, and as per Quebec statistics, I’m already looking for my second home.

I’m a gorgeous girl, sweet, loving, good with dogs, great with kids, fine with cats and crate trained.

What more can you ask for? I’m super mellow but can get excited easily. So some “training” is needed, I also need to learn leash walking.

A boxer mix certainly, but with what? That’s anybody’s guess. I’m about 60 lbs, so not a tiny dog.

In presently in a foster home with two shepherd mixes, a scruffy terrier and two Chihuahuas and behave super well with all.

I would make a wonderful addition to an active family with kids, who wants to chill out with a sweet girl like me by the fireplace or on the couch watching TV.

To apply, visit http://www.sophiesdogadoption.com/application-forms/adoption-form/ and follow the procedure to obtain an application form.

Nitro

I’m Nitro, and I’m a 2-year-old survivor of the streets of Lebanon.

I was shot in the front legs with pellet guns until I could no longer stand back in June 2021. Left for dead, I remained in the brutal heat for 10 days before I was rescued.

Not knowing if I could ever walk again, a team decided they would try different surgeries and rehabilitation to make me walk again.

After a year of surgeries, treatments, and rehabilitation, I can run and play like I should! I may not walk like others, but I am in no pain at all.

Having lived in a foster home back home, I got used to the “good” life. Couch, bed, love, food, and affection is what I’m looking for again!

You’ll have to learn how to integrate me, as I will want to protect you from “strangers” entering my new home!

Sophie’s Dog Adoption will help you get me started on the right (or left) foot!

I am energetic, great with dogs, love the presence of humans and would be fine with gentle kids over 12.

If you think you want to be my new family member, fill in that application form! You will not be sorry you did once you meet me.

To apply, visit

The ban that prevents any more dogs like me to have a chance at the Canadian Dream is unfair.

Zola

Zola is my name, and 4 months is my age! Cane Corso mix? Maybe.

I was purchased by someone on Kijiji at 8 weeks. He had me a month, put me back on Kijiji.

A lady went and got me, she had me a month and realized as a single mom of a toddler, it was not easy to manage two babies! With 4 legs, I run faster than her toddler!!!

So now I’m with Sophie’s Dog Adoption to find my 3rd and final home. At this rate, I’ll have 12 homes in a year. Puppies are cute (and I’m adorable), but we’re a lot of work.

At 4 months, I’m a good puppy, but I’ll be teething soon. So furniture, shoes , remotes and wires, watch out!

If you are ready to take on the puppy challenge, and keep me my whole life, you know what to do.

Bosley

Well, what do you know! I’m only 11 weeks old and already looking for my second (and final) home.

My name is Bosley, I’m a beautiful Cocker, or mix, and as charming as can be.

I was purchased on a Saturday, and brought to Sophie’s Dog Adoption the following Tuesday! 3 days is how long I stayed with the person who “bought” me from a “breeder” on Kijiji.

I’m a puppy. So what can I tell you? I’m not housetrained, obviously. You’ll need to teach me that.

I use my teeth to play! I love slippers, wires, and carpets (pulling out the threads is fun!) so you need to work with me on teaching me right from wrong.

I’ll need lots of toys, and lots of stimuli, but most importantly you will need to have patience! I’m just a baby!

So there it is. I’m a puppy in rescue at only 11 weeks old. This is your chance to get a rescue dog that you’ll actually raise yourself!

But be prepared, I’m gonna be very popular. So put in your application fast if you want to have a chance at adopting me!

To do so, visit http://www.sophiesdogadoption.com/application-forms/adoption-form/

I will charm you while nibbling on your shoelaces!

DOGS FOR ADOPTION

The adoption process through Sophie’s Dog Adoptions consists of filling out an application form to adopt, a full screening is done to ensure that the dogs I place will in fact be going to good, forever homes. These dogs have been through a lot already, and don’t deserve to come back again and again. The right family / person is out there for each dog. The process can sometimes be longer than with other rescue groups or organizations, but an animal is for life and it should not be something to rush into. Once I am satisfied that the family/person meets the criteria to adopt one of my dogs, then the adoption is finalized with a contract. ADOPTING A PET IS NOT SOMETHING TO TAKE LIGHTLY, IT IS, IN MY OPINION, THE SAME AS ADOPTING A CHILD.

Bunny

My name is Bunny and I “hopped” on a flight out of Hawaii to come to Canada for a chance at a good life in 2023.

I’m about 3 years old now, my breed mix is unknown but I weigh a good 50 lbs. I was living in a shelter in Hawaii that has become overcrowded and is lacking funds, so life there had become not so great.

I have discovered a dog bed, human attention and can drink water when I want! The simple things Canadian dogs have.

I’ve been loving it in foster care, but I’m ready to have a family of my own.

I’m super sweet, gentle with everyone, would be good with kids too.

However, not fond of other dogs. I’m a bit of a bully with them, and can get overly stimulated, so nobody parks.

If you think I could be the one for you, please put in your application.

To apply, visit http://www.sophiesdogadoption.com/application-forms/adoption-form/ and follow the procedure to obtain the form.

Sanjaghak

I am Sanjaghak, and I come from the mean streets of Iran. I’m a beautiful girl, most likely Collie mixed with Spaniel. Hard to say!

I was found a couple of months ago, just laying there unable to move anything but my head.

I was taken to a great veterinary hospital where they operated on my spine.  Thanks to them, I have started walking again and making significant daily progress.

I’m about 8 months old, so I have plenty of time to get stronger in my back legs. Right now I am able to walk around, but as soon as I get a little excited, I fall over. My walking is still very wobbly.

I am looking for a home that will continue to exercise me, possibly with the help of a wheelchair so that I can enjoy life like any other dog.

I’m super friendly, gentle, good with dogs, and people of all ages and sizes, and probably fine with cats. I don’t have a mean bone in me!

If you think you’d like to adopt me, put in your application! I will give you all the love back tenfold!

To apply, visit http://www.sophiesdogadoption.com/application-forms/adoption-form/ and follow the procedure to obtain an application form.

Max B

I’m Max B, and I arrived from Lebanon back in September.

My original bio was not quite accurate, I was made out to be dog selective, but I’m really great with all dogs.

I do become a little protective of my “home”, so I definitely need to be socialized as soon as I enter your family. I need to know that strangers can be friends.

I’m crate trained, but I can also stay at home while you’re gone without getting in trouble. I’m respectful of your belongings, and will not chew your shoes!

I walk like a charm on a leash but can become reactive at certain things I see. Dogs, some men, and squirrels, so I need a leader who will not feel sorry for me but will help me embrace this new life.

If you think you’re the one for me, put in an application. Who knows, you may be the one for me!

To apply, visit http://www.sophiesdogadoption.com/application-forms/adoption-form/ and follow the procedure to obtain an application form.

You will not regret it, I promise!

Sindy

I’m Sindy, I’m 2 years old and a petite Armenian girl of 15 lbs. My breed you ask? Don’t know.

You see, I was rescued from the streets of Armenia so nobody knows my background.

I’m missing an eye, but that only adds to my charm. I’m very shy, but coming out of my shell thanks to my foster siblings.

I’m friendly, easy-going, loving, and truly hoping to find a wonderful home to start this new life.

If you think I could be the one for you, put in an application.

To apply, visit http://www.sophiesdogadoption.com/application-forms/adoption-form/ and follow the procedure to obtain an application form.

Lucky Girl

Hello Canada! I’m one Lucky Girl who made it before the upcoming ban, and I’m so grateful.

I’m just a little over a year old, my mix….maybe Doberman, Rottie, or Lab? Whichever I may be, I am super sweet and absolutely gorgeous.

I’m great with other dogs and all people, but I haven’t been tested with cats. There are none iny foster home’s neighborhood to chase after!

I’m desperately looking for a true home I can call mine, as I was rescued as a young girl of 8 months and want to live the true Canadian Experience. The one that all the others have written home about who have come before me!

If you want to give me that life, don’t hesitate to put in your application before someone else does! I’m a gem of a girl.

To apply, visit http://www.sophiesdogadoption.com/application-forms/adoption-form/ and follow the procedure to obtain an application form.
