I’m Mimi, a 9 year old, female, Jack Russell/Chihuahua mix.
My human moved out and left me behind with his roommate. Not knowing what to do, I’m now with Sophie’s Dog Adoption.
I’m getting a full dental this week, and I’ll be ready to smile at my future family.
I’m great with the dogs in foster care, I’m very friendly and easygoing. If you want to give me a good home for my retirement years, I’ll be forever grateful.
I’m Pie, a 10 month old female who comes from a country where dogs are seen as vermin.
I’ve been shot and run over as a puppy, and after many months of rehabilitation, I am able to run by freely again.
I’m looking for the home in the Land of the Free, where I know I will never be mistreated again. I am full of love and would like nothing more than to find a home to call my own.
If you want to give me a chance, pit in your application.
I’m Mylo, a gorgeous 6 year old, male pitbull. I’m big and stocky, but a charmer. I am around 90lbs so for strong hands. I love being on your lap if you’ll let me !
I live with two cats, I’m great with dogs and have no bad habits. I’m only looking for a new home due to personal circumstances, not because of behavioral issues.
I can stay home alone, fully housetrained and even pretty good on walks. I’m not at all reactive, but like to pull so I can sniff everything.
I’m not yet neutered but will be included with adoption, it is NOT negotiable.
I really like kids too, but maybe a little bouncy for young ones. I understand French, English and Spanish! I’m a real smart boy.
If you think I’d be a dog for you, put in your application.
I’m Phoebe , a 19 week old girl from a litter of 8 puppies, that came to Isla Animals Rescue in Mexico, at a only a week old, where I received great care
I am adventurous just like my sister Monica. We love to play with each other and other dogs, who will participate in our shenanigans.
The house cat made it clear that he will not be participating in any of this, which I’ve learned to respect.
I’m your typical puppy that enjoys exploring, running around finding things to chew on. I can easily be redirected by showing me a safe toy, which will get me to gnaw on something safe while I’m teething.
I’m a happy girl who is starting to understand that snuggles with a human are quite enjoyable.
I’m currently working on recall, crate training, walks outside and housetraining.
A puppy trainer is recommended as I am possibly a terrier mix. I have shorter legs and will most likely be the size of my mom, about 16lbs.
My name is Lilo. I am a 6 year old long haired “Chihuahua”, or so they said.
I’m super friendly, affectionate, a little shy but that’s part of my charm.
I’m housetrained, can stay alone, eager to please and love getting attention.
I will need regular brushing as I may be mixed with a Sheltie. That would be Sophie’s guess!
I’m good with other dogs, but I can be a little dominant so my ideal home would be without other dogs.
If you think I’m someone you’d like to get to know, put in your application. I’m very sweet, beautiful, and from what Sophie thinks, I’ll be VERY popular. So don’t wait!
To apply, visit http://www.sophiesdogadoption.com/application-forms/adoption-form/ and follow the procedure to obtain an application form.
I’m Scrappy, an 8 month old dog! I’m a pure mutt, nobody can really say what breeds I’m mixed with.
I’m about 30 lbs, so not a big dog. I’m looking for a new home already as I’m part of the statistics of people getting rid of their dogs within two years.
I’m good with kids, a little nervous around dogs, but a quick learner.
I’d you think you’d like to make me a part of your family, you need to put an application in!
I’m Scoop, a 6 year old Chihuahua mix. I’m about 12 lbs so not a tiny Chihuahua.
I’m good with other dogs, and I’m great with people. I used to be an emotional support dog, but my mom passed and it’s too hard on the family to keep me.
So I’m looking for a new family who will care for me until my old days
I’m Maggie May, a 4 year old Chihuahua/Pinscher mix
My dad was placed in a facility due to age and health, so I’m now looking for a new home.
I’m pee pad trained, probably never went outside. I’m a little chunky, so a good diet will help.
I’m a little shy, but zero agression. I would do well in a fairly calm environment, kids over 12 might be ok. But I’m not really playful I just want to hang near you.
I’m Ceci, an adventurous puppy with a heart of gold! I’m playful and full of energy. I love to chase after toys, explore every corner, and cuddle up for belly rubs.
I’m a Chihuahua mix, and should weigh no more than 15 lbs full grown. Right now, I’m still a tiny thing at 5 lbs.
I’m nicknamed The Flash as I zoom past you to run into another room to check out what is going on. With much curiosity I look for toys to play with and hanging cords, shoes, rugs to chew on.
I’m a puppy, born last November 15th, so as with all puppies, patience and training is required. It’s very crucial at my young age in order to have a well balanced dog.
I prefer the pee pad, as opposed to the cold outside. I am currently working on my confidence when crated or being left in another room.
I’m ready to bring endless joy to your home, if you feel you are ready to offer me a safe, loving home put in your application. I’m spayed and up to date on vaccines, so ready to go to my new home.
I’m Taz the Second, and I’m a lovable companion. I am a big boy (+/-70 lbs), but very calm when I’m at home. Sometimes my presence is barely noticeable. That’s the Pitbull in me.
Here’s a bit on what makes me so special:
Not food-aggressive
No barking in general
A great walker—no pulling in general but may pull towards certain dogs if they are excited. I’m 10 years old, but in fantastic shape.
However, I can be reactive (not aggressive) when meeting certain dogs on leash.
I have done agility training in the past and can still go for long walks, plus I’m a fast learner.
I am good with cats, dogs, humans, and children. I was living with two small children and have lived with various other dogs.
My current foster home has a cat which I instantly got along with.
If you want to give me a good home until the end (and I’m sticking around a few more years), put in your request! You’ll fall in love the minute you meet me.
I’m Little Luna, an 8 years old Maltese and I need a new home. You see, my mom got very old and was no longer able to care for me.
I’m a female, about 8 lbs at the most.
I had surgery last December on one of my legs, to correct a luxation of the patella. So no jumping and hopping for me! I’m pee pad trained as I don’t care for the outside too much but can enjoy little walks and short outings.
I tilt my head to the right, the vets don’t see any actual reason. It doesn’t bother me but it does give me charm.
I’m very sweet, cuddly and quiet. A mellow home where I could live out my last 10 or so years would be my ideal place.
If you’re ready for the commitment, put in your application. I’m getting a full dental this coming week, so I will be ready to find my home.
I’m a loving girl, weigh only 10 lbs, and very good. Fully housetrained, affectionate, playful and very smart.
I’m looking for my forever home, as I’ve already had 2 at my young age.
I’m able to stay home alone, can bark at noises, so apartment life may not be the best choice.
If you want a sweet angel like me, you have to commit for my whole life. That includes moves, change of career, kids, separation or new spouse. I’m not disposable.
So if you are ready to commit, put your application in and we’ll go from there.
My name is Tater, I’m a 2 year old English Bulldog mix. Unfortunately I had a rough start and somehow I ended up at the pound in the USA.
I was transfered to an SPCA for care and adoption as I had severe allergies that had gone untreated. However, during a playful interaction with an employee, my teeth broke skin on his hand accidentally. That put me right on death row.
A great lady stepped up to the plate and took me off death row and brought me to Canada.
I have come a long way with my playtime with humans. I am great with kids however we recommend older kids, in case I get carried away.
I am so good in a crate and can be left alone for a few hours.
Good on walks, even though I need to be reminded not to pull, I wilI adjust. I make good eye contact with you, checking in, while walking.
I will need regular exercise to help me be well behaved and sleep well.
I currently live with a cat and 3 other dogs. I WILL CLAIM any food that is on the floor as my own. You will need to make sure there is no food on the ground if there is another dog in the house.
I will love you to pieces and give you lots of kisses as a way to say thank you for giving me a home.
*****I have allergies and I am currently taking meds for it. This is an added expense to consider when adopting me*****
I’m China, a 5 month old Chihuahua who is looking for her 3rd home. You read right!
I’m very shy and skittish around new people, but I will come around.
I’m friendly, quiet, mellow but still need to practice bathroom habits. I am still very young so I’m learning fast.
I’m good with the other foster dog, so a friendly buddy would be nice but I can also be the only dog.
If you are looking for a dog like me, you must have the patience to help me learn and navigate this crazy world. I want love and mostly stability. You need to be ready to have me for the rest of my life, which might be 20 years (I’m a Chihuahua ).
I’m Fry, an 18 month old Aussie. I was relinquished to Sophie right after Xmas for nipping young kids running in the house. Not sure of my previous background, but my tail is docked.
As far as puppies go, I’m super well behaved! I know lots of commands, am totally house trained, and only bark if I hear strangers at the door.
I like to be in eyesight of my humans, but I’m independent as long as I have toys to chew. I cry to ask for help when they roll under the sofa.
But don’t let these baby blues fool you! I have *lots* of puppy energy so you’ll need to spend time with me so I don’t get bored create my own activities! I definitely cannot spend my days alone in the backyard.
Another dog in the home would be ideal because I love to wrestle. I tire out all the resident dogs in my foster home. My foster mom keeps an eye on us, and I calm down right away if she tells me I’m playing too rough.
My favourite thing ever is the dog park, which I go to every 2 days to burn off my Aussie herding energy. I just run and run and run and never stop!
I have zero prey drive, squirrels can pass right in front of me and I don’t care. Haven’t met any cats though. I’m working on leash walking as I like to turn in circles and might trip you by accident.
I am sweet and affectionate but I’m not a lap dog. I love to please and am super smart.
Ideally you can take me to agility or teach me talking buttons (I’m already learning them) – something that keeps my mind and body occupied.
I’m looking for an active family and if there are kids, they should be older so they don’t trigger my herding instincts with running and jerky movements. Are you my forever companion and adventure buddy!
I’m “Buddy”, a six year old Lab mix. I was originally adopted on “free adoption for seniors” day at the SPCA back in January 2024.
Unfortunately my dad passed in August, and I ended up with my dad’s family. However, it’s just not the home form me. I was put on Prozac from the time I was first adopted, but it’s not doing much for me. I’m getting weaned off it slowly.
I am very much a “one person” dog, as I am super loyal and want to please.
Love getting attention, being petted, brushed, back scratches, and love relaxing and sleeping near you.
I’m sweet, attentive, know basic obedience, and am fully housetrained.
I love going for walks, playing in the snow, fetching, but I can get reactive if I meet dogs on leash.
Now for the anxious side of me: I can be reactive on leash, I will get into the garbage if left alone, I will bark at people entering the house, but also at movement within the house.
You see, I’m now in a family of five, and it’s too much for me. I was put in a situation before the holidays where stress made me react and snap. Nothing major, but enough to realize I’m not in the right environment.
I’m good with other dogs in general, I Iive with a little fluffy dog now and we’re great.
Ideally I’m looking for a structured and quiet household so I can get over my anxiety and find my forever home.
