Bubble

Hi! I’m Bubble and my name suits me!

I’m a bubbly, active, friendly Shih-Tzu mix and I was rescued from the streets of Lebanon.

After the big explosion, people have been having a rough time keeping their dogs, and so I was dumped on the streets.

I’m about 4 years old, and obviously before being abandoned, I was a little spoiled.  I like things my way.

So I’m looking for a structured and quiet home, ideally one person.  I can have attitude and will snap if you push.

However, I’m funny, affectionate and get along with everyone including dogs and cats. But strangers must approach me carefully. I don’t care for fast movements

If you think I could be the guy for you, get the form and send it in!

Toby 8

My name is Toby #8, and I’m looking for a home through no fault of mine.

I’m a 7 year old Chocolate Lab. My dad passed away and my mom is moving into a home where dogs are not allowed.

I am fully vetted and in good health, despite being overweight at the moment.

I’ve been lacking exercise, as dad used to take me for long walks and even running.

I’m good with dogs but have never lived with cats. I’m well behaved, mellow and easy-going.

I love car rides and the outdoors, but I also love to cuddle.

Young or turbulent children are not ideal for me but dog-savvy kids 10 yrs and up would be fine.

If you’re interested in me, please download our adoption form ASAP and send it in.

Rhône

Do you like Chihuahuas? I may be the girl for you. Here’s my story, you decide.

My name is Rhône and unfortunately, my old Mom passed away 3 months ago and I was left orphaned.

I’m 7 years old but rather chubby at 6 lbs. I was 8.8 lbs when I first arrived! You see, Mom never bought me dog food. She’s made a plate for her and one for me. I never left her side, went everywhere with her in a bag, and basically, she was my world.

She couldn’t take me for walks as she was legally blind and couldn’t go far but I would love to go walking around your neighborhood. Due to my eating habits, my teeth were not good but I had a cleaning done and only needed a couple of teeth extracted. My back legs are a bit wobbly from having been obese for so long so I’m looking for someone who will take real good care of me and keep me lean and fit. I am getting around much better now that I’ve lost weight. I can even go up the stairs like a pro and I’m loving my daily walks!

I get along fairly well with the dogs and cats in my foster home. I lived with a cat in my previous home. I do however prefer to be the main attraction. I’m a bit of a Diva you see. I am not suitable for children. I can stay home alone as long as you don’t make a big deal when you leave. If you think we could become BFFs, fill out an application and send it in. I am looking for a very mellow household with a maximum of 2 people .

To apply, visit http://www.sophiesdogadoption.com/application-forms/adoption-form/ and follow the procedure to obtain an application form.

Willy

My name is Willy, and I just arrived from Jordan. You see in my country, dogs are considered pests, not pets!

So after having been rescued from the streets where my brother Dexter and I were living, we were sent to Canada and I ended up with Sophie’s Dog Adoption at the tender age of 8 months, legally allowed to fly!!!

I am in a foster home with dogs of all sizes, a cat and two teenage kids, do I can live pretty much in any kind of home.

If you think I could finish growing up in your home, I’d be super happy and loyal to you for the test of my life.

Send in your application, Sophie is waiting for it!

Rocky B4

Another Rocky from the streets of Beirut?  That’s me! I’m known as Rocky B4, I’m about a year old and my mix is a guess.

I’m the size of a lab, yellow/red in color, and about 60 lbs.

So far I’ve been very nice, good with other dogs, getting used to the crate, and not afraid of anything.

I have not been tested with cats, but I would be good with dog-savvy kids. I’m a little bouncy so ideally over 8 years old so I don’t knock them over.

I am eager to please and am learning rules pretty quickly.

If you think I could make your family a great companion, send in your application to info@sophiesdogadoption.com

Rocky B3

I’m another Rocky from Beirut, hence Rocky B3.

I’m a mix, your guess is as good as mine, and about 2 years old. I was rescued from the streets, but it’s obvious to my rescuers that I once lived in a home.

I’m very mellow, good with other dogs, could learn to live with cats and definitely good with people of all ages.

I will need some adjustments but having been here only a couple of days, I’ve shown that I’m very adaptable.

If you want to give me a chance at a good life with you, download the form and send it back in. I will become a loyal friend.

Finn

My name is Finn, I’m a 2 year old pointer, and I was rescued from Armenia.

I had some trauma when I was around 1yr old which led to my blindness. This took me for a loop and it took some time to adjust but I am as good as ever.

My amazing rescuer made sure I received the care I needed by having a vet give me a physical where I was vaccinated, microchipped and neutered.

Her love for me made her make arrangements so I could leave  the boarding facility, and was sent to Montreal for a chance at the best life ever.

It’s true, I am now blind in both eyes, however, I do not let this get me down. At my foster’s home I have mapped out their home and know where the steps are to go up and down, where the water is, my bed and where my buddy Lucas’s room is situated. Sometimes he closes the door so when I head to his room I bump into it.

No worries, because I have a hard head.

I really enjoy walking and even trotting along, so if you enjoy running I would make the perfect jogging partner.  I won’t complain and I will happily let you decide where you would like to run.

I am living with a couple of other dogs right now and am fine to be part of their pack but it’s humans I love to hang with.

Food is what drives me to counter surf so if you are not keeping an eye on your plate of food, my nose will lead me right to it, and hey, finders keepers, right?

I also enjoy the dog park where I have room to wander, explore and smell new things. There are some other nice dogs at the park and I enjoy it very much when their owners pet me. If dogs try and fight, I find it’s best just to wander away from all that drama…

What’s fun is when my foster parents call me from far away, hearing their voice I follow the sound right up to them and prance through their legs. It’s a game we like to play..

To be honest, I do whine when wanting food, this is something I really need to work on.

Being an independent guy , I like to wander in the back yard and even go through a fence to get to the neighbours back yard.

Other than being nearly perfect, I will bark at new noises. I have been blessed with a solid bark so I will either need to be in a home with great neighbours who love dogs or in a detached home.

Would you like a companion that is somewhat low key and doesn’t make too many demands? I would love to meet you. Please see me for what a beautiful character I am and not underestimate the amazing companion I can be. I would also be great with kids.

Sincerely,
Finn

Axel

Hello folks, I’m Axel the 7 month old Great Dane.

I’m already weighing in at about 100 lbs, so I’m expected to be a BIG boy.

I was unfortunately given up as I have become strong and my dad could no longer walk me.

Other than needing to learn to walk on leash, I am great. Maybe a bit big for young kids, but no malice at all.

Because of my size and young age, I have not yet been neutered so Sophie will be super careful as I should ideally get neutered once fully grown and developed.

That means there could be some marking issues unless you monitor and train me accordingly.

I want to find the ONE family that will be ready to deal with me in all aspects, for the rest of my life.

If you have what it takes, download and return the application form.

I will make the best pal ever!

Pucci

My name is Pucci and I’m about 7 yrs old.  I’m  in excellent health and have the stamina of a young dog. My teeth are in super shape. I weigh about 35 lbs and most likely Poodle mix.

My foster home says I’m awesome, sweet, bright, loving and I’m wonderful with dogs and cats.

I was used as a stud back in Lebanon but, where I was rescued from a shed where I lived. It took me some time to understand what was going on.

I have learned the basics like good leash-walking skills and obedience . I’m so eager to please that training me is easy.

I do have a fear of men or anyone approaching me too quickly (I just bark), so you’ll want to keep me next to you on a short leash when you’re out walking me or when people come over. I can also be crated.  I very much like my crate.

I rarely bark, but I have some prey drive with small critters like squirrels and such.

I can be mouthy when I get very excited, so ideally no young kids for me.

To apply, visit http://www.sophiesdogadoption.com/application-forms/adoption-form/ and follow the procedure to obtain an application form.

Grace A

I’ve been named Grace by my rescuers in Armenia.

I’m a petite dog, about 25 lbs and of unknown mix. I’m about 1 year old and was rescued from the streets after some kids gouged my eye out with a stick.

My wonderful rescuers decided on had a better chance at finding a loving home in Canada, so here I am.

I have no issues with getting around, being playful, active, curious and certainly affectionate.

If you’d like to be the one to give me the warmth of a home, send in your application form.

June Boy

I’ve been named June as I was rescued from the streets of Lebanon in June of last year.

I’m a mix, possibly Norwich Terrier and/or Yorkshire terrier and probably about 7 years old.

I’m a very sweet boy, quiet, cuddly, clean, however I’m deaf. So getting my attention is with signs.

I’m looking for a home who will give me the best years of my life. I really like everybody including kids, just not crazy about cats.

If you think I’m the one for you, download the form and return it by email.

Sunny Arevic

My name is Sunny Arevic, and I’m a 3 year old Armenian rescue.
I was found on the streets in pretty bad shape, one eye needed to be removed and the other one sees nothing. So I am blind, but you would never know it.

I am very sweet, quiet, playful and super affectionate. I can do stairs, can get around with no problems and even do pretty well on a leash.
I’m a mix, maybe corgi mix from my size and shape.

If you think I’m the girl for you, please download and return the application form.

Leo B

Hi there! My name is Leo B. I came from Lebanon where I was found in a certain state of neglect. I went to a shelter where they realized I didn’t belong there. So I was offered the chance of Canadian life, and I jumped on the occasion. So here I am looking for love again. I’m young, probably a little over a year old, so be ready to have me for the next 15 years.

I’m good with dogs but have not tested with cats or other small pets. As for children, very dog-savvy kids 10 years and up could do. I’m very quick to bond with my humans. As cute as I may be, it’s important not to let me follow you around everywhere. Don’t let me become a needy and insecure little guy, please.

Lilly Rose

Meet Lilly Rose everybody! This spunky Bully girl is currently just a little over 4 months old. Here is her bio…

Lilly is still a puppy but is thriving. She looks at us with soft eyes now, happy to listen for the most part, after all she is a puppy, is doing well chewing her toys and not other things, waits to be invited on the sofa or bed, waits for her food to be placed in front of her, learning to pee outside, also learning how to understand other dogs, not being afraid of certain noise and learning the crate can be a good place to be at times.

Lilly Rose needs to continue with her training, it is crucial for her well being. She is all muscle and will grow to be over 60bls of muscle. Her walking needs to be on point.

Whoever gets this amazing girl to be part of their famiy can expect lots of cuddles and and a very playful girl. She certainly is special and will be so happy to be in her forever home.

Oakly

Hi everyone! my name is Oakley. I’m a 7-year-old mixed-breed male. ( Best guess: Husky/Shepard mix perhaps with some Rottweiler ). I weigh 70 lbs and I’m looking to find my forever home for the 3 rd time now.

I was adopted back in 2017 but originally came from the Great North of Québec where there are many strays like me to rescue and find loving homes for.

My family discovered that I’m not at all comfortable around the new child in the home now that he is starting to crawl. I’ve even nipped a couple of times. It was over toys on the floor. So for that reason, they have decided to return me. I’m a sweet pooch aside from that. Structure, stability, and regular exercise are a must for me. I need a peaceful home.

My new home will need to be dog-savvy, pet-free, and child-free. A securely fenced yard would be ideal for me since I love the outdoors. I was very insecure when I was first rescued. Being moved again will be a big shock to me so I will need a patient and understanding human.

Lizzy B

I am Lizzie B, I was rescued from the streets of Lebanon after having been shot in the face while pregnant.

Unfortunately, my pups died before I could deliver them, but thankfully I was rescued and brought to a vet.

My sight could not be saved and have become blind as a result. I’m about 2 years old and gentle as can be. I need time to adapt to new environments, but with patience and love, I will get more confident.

I’m good with other dogs, preferably calm dogs, and cats don’t really bother me. I’m not ideal for kids unless they are over 12 yrs old and dog-savvy. I need a calm and peaceful home. Aside from being blind, I am in good health.

I may be a shepherd mix, who knows, I can’t tell because I’m blind. I’m still beautiful, both inside and out. I love being loved.

Ideally, I’m looking for someone who does NOT plan on taking me for walks on a leash. I’m very scared and don’t like to leave the property. I also really hate being left home alone.

So a ground floor and a yard are a MUST. Kids are fine if they want to give me love. But I’m not much of a “play buddy”. No ball fetching or running around for me.

Dogs I can get along with, but I need to establish my rules when it comes to food.

If you want a cuddly, affectionate, loving dog, give me a shout! But be patient, I’ll need to trust you fully before I’ll commit.

To apply, visit http://www.sophiesdogadoption.com/application-forms/adoption-form/ and follow the procedure to obtain an application form.

Jerry

Jerry was rescued back in Lebanon when he was a puppy. He was one of the lucky few to get selected to fly over to Montreal and join Sophie’s Dog Adoption. Jerry is a gorgeous Husky with one blue eye and one blue and brown eye. Pretty cool eh? He was adopted back in January 2022 but is now being returned to us because he doesn’t like being left home alone.

He’s now about 18 months but still acts very much like an unruly puppy at times. He uses his mouth when he gets excited. He has a lot of energy so an active human is a must for Jerry. His training needs work. He is not for the first time dog owner.

If you have a home with a secured yard, decent dog training experience and plenty of time to give to Jerry then you just might be the ideal person to adopt him.

Daily exercise, structure, rules and boundaries are very important in order to get his anxiety under control. Jerry is extremely bright and eager to please. He’s highly food motivated and very curious. He should be crated when you leave him home alone. He loves the outdoors and is super cuddly.

Spark

I’m Spark, and I was named that by my rescuers as they could see that spark in my eyes.

I come from the streets of Lebanon where I was terribly abused as well as having had my mouth wired shut. It left a scar on my muzzle.

I’m about 2 yrs old, but act very much like a 9 month old who needs training. I needed to learn stuff like not jumping, no grabbing, no counter surfing. No using my mouth when I get excited and getting used to meeting new people in a non-threanening manner. Thanks to my foster mom, my manners are now much better.

I still need training on walks as I can be reactive at the sight of other people and dogs when on leash. Inside however, once I’m well- exercised, I am just a big old cuddle bug who wants only to please you and shower you with love.

I love to be outside despite my origins, I have learned to love this white fluffy stuff you call snow!

Ideally, I would love to live on the outskirts of the city, and a nice yard would be great. If not, be prepared to give me lots of outdoor time.

I’m good with other large dogs, so one to play with could be fun, but no kids or cats as I’m not the most gentle right now. My new home should be calm, structured and dog-savvy.

Here is what my foster mom has to say about me:
“Spark is an active dog. Very smart and a fast learner. He is full of love. He loves being cuddled but prefers playing outside. He doesn’t like to be left alone and he always wants to make sure you’re around him.
He’s fearful from cars and people he doesn’t know”.

Chico Chi 2

Hi there! My name is Chico Chi 2. I’m about 6 yrs old, weigh around 10 lbs and am in good health aside from having terrible teeth right now. Sophie will be getting a dental cleaning and some extractions done for me asap.

My brother Pepito and I were surrendered to SDA because our human could no longer keep us due to circumstances out of her control. She was incredibly devasted to have to let us go but knew SDA would find us the perfect new forever homes.

I’m a great little dude. I get along well with other small dogs but I’m not really interested in the big ones. I just don’t care much if they invade my space and will snarl a bit to let them know to back off. As for cats, I totally ignore them. I’m good with kids granted they handle me with great care. A little thing like me could easily get injured if dropped or manipulated too roughly.

I’m not much of a barker. I only tend to bark if other dogs are barking but I also sometimes bark at the TV. Hee hee! I’m a quirky little fellow at times. I have learned to ditch the pipi pads in my foster home and now ask for the door. That being said, I may still have an accident from time to time if you have something that looks like a pipi pad to me in your home.

My ideal home should make to sure to take excellent care of my mouth by brushing my teeth and gums on a regular basis and providing me with dental chews daily. I’m not sure yet how many teeth I will have left once I get my dental done so I may need to be on moist food for a while after that. I don’t appear to have any separation anxiety but I’ve never been home totally alone before. Let’s just say that it will be important not too make a big deal when you leave to go out. I would hate te develop SA and have you return me because it bothers the neighbours.

Rain

I’m Rain and I was found on the highway in the pouring rain in Beirut last year and was flown to Montreal in April 2022 for a chance at a good life.

Even though I’ve been in foster care for a year, I am still super nervous. I’m not used to human contact, so I’m looking for a home that will give me time to adjust to my new life.

I’m scared but not aggressive, however, touching me is a thing I still don’t like. Not having ever had a collar or leash, it’s been a challenge. I don’t like being grabbed by the collar, and I still hate the idea of a leash. I just don’t move.

So I need a home with a fully fenced-in yard so I can go in and out on my own. I’m good with dogs but show mild resource guarding with my food. I could possibly live with older kids and a cat.

I’ve been crate trained, but I am fine being left alone. It may be a good idea at the beginning when you’re out just in case.

I’m about 3 years old with a lifetime of learning still to come. I am clean in the house and will scratch at the door to go out. I enjoy being outside now that it’s getting warm. You must supervise me however as I tend to flee. I always look sad. I recently had puppies when I was found but my rescuers were unsuccessful in locating them. It is very important that you do not feel sorry for me, however. I need you to be confident and surround me with positive energy so I can feed that off of you.

If you think I’m the one you want to love and help become the balanced and fulfilled pooch I deserve to be, visit http://www.sophiesdogadoption.com/application-forms/adoption-form/ and follow the procedure to obtain an application form.
