Nina Mork

I’m Nina Mork, a 10 month old “designer dog” (Maltese/Yorkshire) and I’m looking for a COMPASSIONATE adopter.

You see, I come from a horrendous, but legal “breeder” in Quebec. I was sold with NO guarantees on Hypoglycemia or Genetic diseases.

Long story short, I suffered from hypoglycemia in my first 2 months after being purchased, and I also have a severe liver shunt (https://vcacanada.com/know-your-pet/portosystemic-shunt-in-dogs), that in my case is inoperable.

I weigh a tiny 4 lbs, and I need to be fed a home-cooked diet for the rest of my life, which has a very short expectancy. I also need lactulose and occasional antibiotics, as well as certain supplements that can help me.

If all is done correctly, I may live another full year. I do not suffer, and I don’t want to be euthanized just because of my “special needs”. I’m hoping and wishing my dream of a loving home until I’m too weak to go on, will come around and smother me with love.

I’m playful, active, super affectionate and just want to be loved.

If you want more info on what my needs are, contact Sophie directly at info@sophiesdogadoption.com and she will send you an application if you think I’m the one you want to care for. Ideally, you should be home a lot or work from home.

Queenie

I’m Queenie, and I’m a 5-month-old Beagle. I’m full of pep and energy, but I’m a super sweet and smart girl.

Beagles are not for everyone, so think it through before you even apply. We’re a hunting breed, so we need to stay active and have something to do.

Being so young, it’s a plus for my future family. However, it’s also a LOT of work. You have to be present enough to be able to make me become confident and well-behaved, as well as work with me.

Even though Snoopy is a “Beagle”, he is not representative of the breed! Don’t get fooled by the cartoon character, I’m a real Beagle!

If you know the breed and think I could be a part of your family, put in an application.

To apply, visit http://www.sophiesdogadoption.com/application-forms/adoption-form/ and follow the procedure to obtain an application form.

Maya 7

I’m Maya. Being the 7th Maya to come to Sophie’s Dog Adoption, I’m going by Maya 7!

I’m a sweet, loving, good-natured Shih Tzu, almost 9 years old, but have many good years in front of me.

My human has passed away, so I’m looking for a new home.

As much as I’m fine with everyone, I would prefer a quiet home with no live-in kids. An active person or couple would be nice as I do like to go for walks and socialize with other dogs and people.

If you have a soft spot for Shih Tzus, I may be the girl for you.

To apply, visit http://www.sophiesdogadoption.com/application-forms/adoption-form/ and follow the procedure to obtain an application form.

Maple

I’m Maple, 5 years old, of lab mixed breed, and looking for a permanent home.

I came from Lebanon after the pandemic and have been waiting ever since.

I weigh about 70lbs, so I’m not a lap dog but I love hugs & contact; if you sit with your feet up I’ll rub on you like a cat.

I am very well-behaved. I do not go on furniture or bed. I sleep on the floor or my bed.

I never go in the garbage or take food from the counter. Your food is safe with me!

Now that I’m more comfortable,  my recall has dropped to 80% when I’m interested in something else, but I love treats.

I’m very food-motivated and love praise. I’m playful, curious, and know basic commands like sit, down, paw, etc.  We’re still working on stay!

I love looking for hidden treats with a “find it”. I love being chased, and walking when on a leash but I am VERY reactive to other dogs I see.

I can stay home alone with no issues. I’m good with other dogs, I’ve lived with Guinea pigs and was totally cool. I am also very gentle with babies and young kids.

If you want to make me a part of your family, put in an application.

To apply, visit http://www.sophiesdogadoption.com/application-forms/adoption-form/ and follow the procedure to obtain an application form.

Tobi

I’m Tobi with an “i”. I’m 7 years old and a Poodle/Cocker Spaniel mix.

I’m very playful, affectionate, active and get along with other dogs.

I don’t really like being alone all day, I get bored and may bark more than I should. I do have a little separation anxiety.

Ideally I would love an active family, kids over 14 would be fine especially if they like to play!

I’m cute as a button, but you have to think of the long term. I’m looking for my 3rd home and want this one to be my final home and grow old with my family.

If you think you might be the one(s) for me, put in a request!

To apply, visit http://www.sophiesdogadoption.com/application-forms/adoption-form/ and follow the procedure to obtain an application form.

Ti-Bo

I’ve been named Ti-Bo and I’m a one year old Chihuahua/Yorkshire mix.

I was born in a bad environment and have been “ignored” pretty much all my life.

I’m very skittish and will need a patient and loving home to show me love and affection.

I’m super cute, but you need to be ready for whatever challenges I might have as I learn to navigate through life.

I’m not a barker, I’m ok to stay alone, and I’m very gentle. Not a mean bone in me.

To apply, visit http://www.sophiesdogadoption.com/application-forms/adoption-form/ and follow the procedure to obtain an application form.

Gucci Sr

My name is Gucci Sr and I’m an overweight, 10-year-old toy poodle. I just had a full dental, so my teeth are beautiful.

I’m super sweet and easygoing, don’t mind kids but would prefer a quiet home.

If you’re looking for a sweet, senior boy, I may be the one for you.

I love little walks, but obviously not looking to do marathons. I’m just looking for a lovely person or couple to spend the rest of my life with.

To apply, visit http://www.sophiesdogadoption.com/application-forms/adoption-form/ and follow the procedure to obtain an application form.

Armani

I’m Armani, a 5 year old poodle. I recently got neutered and had a full dental as I had been pretty neglected.

I’m super friendly, food with other dogs, affectionate and playful. I’m an easy going dog who would fit in with your family, old or young.

I’m good with kids, so an active bunch would keep me busy!

I’m only about 10 lbs, so not a big dude. If you think I could be the one, visit http://www.sophiesdogadoption.com/application-forms/adoption-form/ and follow the procedure to obtain an application form.

Noodle

I’m Noodle. I was left tied to a pole at the entrance to a park in a bad state of neglect.

The vet estimates me at less than two years old, and I’m possibly a sort of “doodle”, hence the name given to me.

So far I’ve proven to be very sweet, quiet, friendly and happy go lucky.

No separation anxiety, get along with dogs and would probably enjoy kids to play with

The pictures show me “as found”, and after grooming (done while I was under anesthesia getting neutered).

I can have beautiful white hair, most likely with some curls. I may be a mix of Bichon or Poodle so you will need to prepare yourself for regular grooming.

I am about 15 lbs, so considered a small dog but big enough to not be too delicate.

To apply, visit http://www.sophiesdogadoption.com/application-forms/adoption-form/ and follow the procedure to obtain an application form.

I will be quite popular, so get your application in sooner than later.

Junior

I’m Junior, a beautiful 3 month old Daschund.

I’m already looking for a new home because having a puppy is more work than my family thought.

I’m a puppy, so not much to say other than I’m like having a baby around. Teething coming soon, may still have peeing accidents, love slippers and shoes, so you have to be ready!

If you want a puppy, you have to be ready to put up with a lot in my first year! If you raise me well, I will become your best friend!

I want one home for the rest of my life, so think think think before you decide you want to bring me home.

To apply, visit http://www.sophiesdogadoption.com/application-forms/adoption-form/ and follow the procedure to obtain an application form.

Princess of York

I am Princess of York, a beautiful, friendly and happy 4 year old Yorkshire Terrier.

I was recently spayed as I had several litters before my arrival with Sophie’s Dog Adoption.

I am great with other dogs, can cohabitate with a cat, and very good with everyone. I would be fine with kids who know how to treat me.

If you think I could be the dog for you, put in your application. I’m sure I will be very popular so don’t wait.

To apply, visit http://www.sophiesdogadoption.com/application-forms/adoption-form/ and follow the procedure to obtain an application form.

Big Mac

I’m Mac, Big Mac. I’m a big boy, weighing in at 80+ lbs and I’m about 3 years old. I was rescued as a puppy from a shelter in Nashville, so my breed is a pure guess.

I know all my basic commands and have very good recall. If you put me in a sit/lie down position, I will wait until you say “release” before moving.

I love getting head scratches and leaning against you to get petted.

I almost never bark and get along with other dogs (off leash). I do enjoying playing rough with them.

Indoors, I am generally mellow and relaxed. I love humans of all ages. Great with kids.

I’ve had the same home for 3 years, but it’s become clear to them that they can’t give me the stimulation I need and deserve.

If I’m left alone too long, I will get into stuff and chew them up (books, pens, possibly your remote, stuff of that nature). It’s a bit of separation anxiety that can be resolved if I get enough outside off-leash time. Then I am a model citizen!

However, when on leash, I can sometimes be reactive when walking too close to other dogs.

With proper redirection and positive reinforcement, I can be good.

My ideal home would be able to offer me a very active, outdoorsy lifestyle, allowing me to spend time outside.

If you are looking for a hiking buddy, a mountaineering sidekick, and a friend to curl up by the fire next to you, I may be the one!

To apply, visit http://www.sophiesdogadoption.com/application-forms/adoption-form/ and follow the procedure to obtain an application form.

Big Billy

I’m Big Billy, a less than two year old dude sold as a Miniature Pinscher. I’m sure one of my parents or ancestors was, but I’m really big for a min pin! Very slim, but very tall.

I have super long legs and huge ears. The rest of me is pretty much a miniature pinscher but I obviously don’t come from an ethical breeder.

I’m super friendly, playful, get along great with dogs, housetrained, quiet and generally a good dog.

I’m looking for my third and final home, not by any fault of mine. Life in Quebec is hard on us dogs, we’re lucky if we stay our whole life in one home.

I love going for walks, car rides, playdates in the park, and would probably love having a family with kids.

If you feel I could be the one to share your life for at least the next decade and more (I could live to be 16-19 ), send in your application.

To apply, visit http://www.sophiesdogadoption.com/application-forms/adoption-form/ and follow the procedure to obtain an application form.

Elvis

I’m Elvis, and I need a compassionate person to take care of me in my old age.

I’m a 14 year old Chihuahua and I’m partially handicapped due to a back problem 7 years ago.

I have a hard time standing up from a sitting position, my back legs don’t follow properly and often wobble and I fall.

Because of this, I don’t get to the pee pad in time anymore, so I may need to wear belly bands as I don’t necessarily control it.

The main problems is pooping. I can’t stand in “position” so I do it while laying down.

Obviously I need a full time care giver. My teeth are getting done at the vet as I love giving kisses, and being with someone. Not much else I can do at my age 😢.

I’m also getting hard of hearing if not completely deaf. If you give me a home, I will be forever grateful. I have another few years ahead of me, I want to be loved again.

To apply, visit http://www.sophiesdogadoption.com/application-forms/adoption-form/ and follow the procedure to obtain an application form.

Lucky Doodle

I’m Lucky Doodle, a 1 year old golden/poodle mix, and I’m already looking for a new home.

I was purchased as a puppy, but having a young family, they were not able to take the time to work with me.

So it didn’t take long before I became a little bossy. Food is mine (on counters, on the floor, in my bowl or in the kid’s hands), and I will snap if you try to take it from me.

It also became “my” house, so strangers were not welcome. I would bark at them until they realize I don’t like them.

I’m super friendly, funny, active and would love nothing more than a structured, active family or person. Family would mean kids over 12, but ideally a couple or active person would suit me just fine.

If you think I could be for you, you are willing to invest time and possibly money to get me behaving like a good canine citizen, then put in your application. I will b forever grateful to find the right home for me.

To apply, visit http://www.sophiesdogadoption.com/application-forms/adoption-form/ and follow the procedure to obtain an application form.

Rejean

I’ve been named Rejean, and I’m a little over a year old. I weigh about 20 lbs.

I’m most likely a Schnauzer mix, but could be a “doodle”. Either way, I don’t shed, but I do require grooming.

I’m a people pleaser, friendly, engaging and happy go lucky.

I’ve been a little “spoiled” as my dad gave me human food instead of dog food. I will be picky, but you’ll need to be consistent if you want me to be well raised and eat what’s in my bowl!

I am looking for structure, love, and a family for the rest of my life. I’m still very young, and part of the statistics of Quebec, where people dump their pets within 2 years. I want a real home, not a temporary one.

I’m a companion, a friend, a member of your family. If you’re ready to adopt for life, put in your application!

To apply, visit http://www.sophiesdogadoption.com/application-forms/adoption-form/ and follow the procedure to obtain an application form.

Tinto

My name is Tinto, I’m a 8 year old Chihuahua mix. I’m quite tall and about 15 lbs.

I get along with female dogs, but can be selective about males. I tend to be more dominant with males.

I can stay home alone, housetrained, affectionate and friendly.

I’m looking for a forever home, I lost mine because the family had babies, and it stressed me out.

So if you’re not planning on having babies and want me to become a member of your family, I’ll be in Heaven.

I’m looking for a loving family/person who will commit for the rest of my life.

To apply, visit http://www.sophiesdogadoption.com/application-forms/adoption-form/ and follow the procedure to obtain an application form.

Choochoo

My name is Choochoo, I’m a 7 year old Shih Tzu. I am looking for a new home following the passing of my dad.

I am the sweetest boy you’ll ever meet, I love people and being the center of attention.

Since dad’s passing, I was living with a family member, but I’m not a good candidate for apartment life.

You see, my dad spoiled me, and never left me alone. So when I’m all alone, I will cry and bark until I realize you’re really gone.

I am looking for love and attention, and will bark to let you know what I “need”. Food, water, toys…. That’s what I live for.

I am great with kids, old folks, basically anyone. And I’m pretty small, under 15lbs, but short legged!

I do, however, suffer from food allergies so I must be kept on a very strict diet. No chicken, ideally no corn. For now I’m on vet food, but holistic/natural foods can be very good too .

If you live in a house and want a companion like me, you know what to do.

To apply, visit http://www.sophiesdogadoption.com/application-forms/adoption-form/ and follow the procedure to obtain an application form.

Moka 2

I’m Moka 2, a sweet little 7 year old girl.

I’m a Pomeranian, my coat is super soft and silky, and I truly am a darling.

I’m looking for a new home following a separation. I’m great with all dogs, friendly with people, very healthy and looking for a new family to love me forever.

I can stay alone, I’m housetrained and pee pad trained as well. I’m a very mellow, low energy dog.

If you’d like to give me that home, visit http://www.sophiesdogadoption.com/application-forms/adoption-form/ and follow the procedure to obtain an application form.

Toffee

I’m Toffee, and I’m an 8 year old miniature poodle.

My original family moved to Vietnam and I was taken in by a friend as they were going to send me to the SPCA.

However, here we are a year later and I’m looking for the right home.

I’m good with other dogs, great with people, able to stay alone and generally a sweet dog.

If you think you’d like me, put in an application.

To apply, visit http://www.sophiesdogadoption.com/application-forms/adoption-form/ and follow the procedure to obtain an application form.
