Jade

My name is Jade, and I’m a real gem. I’m less than two years old, and as per Quebec statistics, I’m already looking for my second home.

I’m a gorgeous girl, sweet, loving, good with dogs, great with kids, fine with cats and crate trained.

What more can you ask for? I’m super mellow but can get excited easily. So some “training” is needed, I also need to learn leash walking.

A boxer mix certainly, but with what? That’s anybody’s guess. I’m about 60 lbs, so not a tiny dog.

In presently in a foster home with two shepherd mixes, a scruffy terrier and two Chihuahuas and behave super well with all.

I would make a wonderful addition to an active family with kids, who wants to chill out with a sweet girl like me by the fireplace or on the couch watching TV.

To apply, visit http://www.sophiesdogadoption.com/application-forms/adoption-form/ and follow the procedure to obtain an application form.

Nitro

I’m Nitro, and I’m a 2-year-old survivor of the streets of Lebanon.

I was shot in the front legs with pellet guns until I could no longer stand back in June 2021. Left for dead, I remained in the brutal heat for 10 days before I was rescued.

Not knowing if I could ever walk again, a team decided they would try different surgeries and rehabilitation to make me walk again.

After a year of surgeries, treatments, and rehabilitation, I can run and play like I should! I may not walk like others, but I am in no pain at all.

Having lived in a foster home back home, I got used to the “good” life. Couch, bed, love, food, and affection is what I’m looking for again!

You’ll have to learn how to integrate me, as I will want to protect you from “strangers” entering my new home!

Sophie’s Dog Adoption will help you get me started on the right (or left) foot!

I am energetic, great with dogs, love the presence of humans and would be fine with gentle kids over 12.

If you think you want to be my new family member, fill in that application form! You will not be sorry you did once you meet me.

The ban that prevents any more dogs like me to have a chance at the Canadian Dream is unfair.

Zola

Zola is my name, and 4 months is my age! Cane Corso mix? Maybe.

I was purchased by someone on Kijiji at 8 weeks. He had me a month, put me back on Kijiji.

A lady went and got me, she had me a month and realized as a single mom of a toddler, it was not easy to manage two babies! With 4 legs, I run faster than her toddler!!!

So now I’m with Sophie’s Dog Adoption to find my 3rd and final home. At this rate, I’ll have 12 homes in a year. Puppies are cute (and I’m adorable), but we’re a lot of work.

At 4 months, I’m a good puppy, but I’ll be teething soon. So furniture, shoes , remotes and wires, watch out!

If you are ready to take on the puppy challenge, and keep me my whole life, you know what to do.

Bosley

Well, what do you know! I’m only 11 weeks old and already looking for my second (and final) home.

My name is Bosley, I’m a beautiful Cocker, or mix, and as charming as can be.

I was purchased on a Saturday, and brought to Sophie’s Dog Adoption the following Tuesday! 3 days is how long I stayed with the person who “bought” me from a “breeder” on Kijiji.

I’m a puppy. So what can I tell you? I’m not housetrained, obviously. You’ll need to teach me that.

I use my teeth to play! I love slippers, wires, and carpets (pulling out the threads is fun!) so you need to work with me on teaching me right from wrong.

I’ll need lots of toys, and lots of stimuli, but most importantly you will need to have patience! I’m just a baby!

So there it is. I’m a puppy in rescue at only 11 weeks old. This is your chance to get a rescue dog that you’ll actually raise yourself!

But be prepared, I’m gonna be very popular. So put in your application fast if you want to have a chance at adopting me!

To do so, visit http://www.sophiesdogadoption.com/application-forms/adoption-form/

I will charm you while nibbling on your shoelaces!

DOGS FOR ADOPTION

The adoption process through Sophie’s Dog Adoptions consists of filling out an application form to adopt, a full screening is done to ensure that the dogs I place will in fact be going to good, forever homes. These dogs have been through a lot already, and don’t deserve to come back again and again. The right family / person is out there for each dog. The process can sometimes be longer than with other rescue groups or organizations, but an animal is for life and it should not be something to rush into. Once I am satisfied that the family/person meets the criteria to adopt one of my dogs, then the adoption is finalized with a contract. ADOPTING A PET IS NOT SOMETHING TO TAKE LIGHTLY, IT IS, IN MY OPINION, THE SAME AS ADOPTING A CHILD.

Bunny

My name is Bunny and I “hopped” on a flight out of Hawaii to come to Canada for a chance at a good life in 2023.

I’m about 3 years old now, my breed mix is unknown but I weigh a good 50 lbs. I was living in a shelter in Hawaii that has become overcrowded and is lacking funds, so life there had become not so great.

I have discovered a dog bed, human attention and can drink water when I want! The simple things Canadian dogs have.

I’ve been loving it in foster care, but I’m ready to have a family of my own.

I’m super sweet, gentle with everyone, would be good with kids too.

However, not fond of other dogs. I’m a bit of a bully with them, and can get overly stimulated, so nobody parks.

If you think I could be the one for you, please put in your application.

To apply, visit http://www.sophiesdogadoption.com/application-forms/adoption-form/ and follow the procedure to obtain the form.

Sanjaghak

I am Sanjaghak, and I come from the mean streets of Iran. I’m a beautiful girl, most likely Collie mixed with Spaniel. Hard to say!

I was found a couple of months ago, just laying there unable to move anything but my head.

I was taken to a great veterinary hospital where they operated on my spine.  Thanks to them, I have started walking again and making significant daily progress.

I’m about 8 months old, so I have plenty of time to get stronger in my back legs. Right now I am able to walk around, but as soon as I get a little excited, I fall over. My walking is still very wobbly.

I am looking for a home that will continue to exercise me, possibly with the help of a wheelchair so that I can enjoy life like any other dog.

I’m super friendly, gentle, good with dogs, and people of all ages and sizes, and probably fine with cats. I don’t have a mean bone in me!

If you think you’d like to adopt me, put in your application! I will give you all the love back tenfold!

Max B

I’m Max B, and I arrived from Lebanon back in September.

My original bio was not quite accurate, I was made out to be dog selective, but I’m really great with all dogs.

I do become a little protective of my “home”, so I definitely need to be socialized as soon as I enter your family. I need to know that strangers can be friends.

I’m crate trained, but I can also stay at home while you’re gone without getting in trouble. I’m respectful of your belongings, and will not chew your shoes!

I walk like a charm on a leash but can become reactive at certain things I see. Dogs, some men, and squirrels, so I need a leader who will not feel sorry for me but will help me embrace this new life.

If you think you’re the one for me, put in an application. Who knows, you may be the one for me!

To apply, visit http://www.sophiesdogadoption.com/application-forms/adoption-form/ and follow the procedure to obtain an application form.

You will not regret it, I promise!

Sindy

I’m Sindy, I’m 2 years old and a petite Armenian girl of 15 lbs. My breed you ask? Don’t know.

You see, I was rescued from the streets of Armenia so nobody knows my background.

I’m missing an eye, but that only adds to my charm. I’m very shy, but coming out of my shell thanks to my foster siblings.

I’m friendly, easy-going, loving, and truly hoping to find a wonderful home to start this new life.

If you think I could be the one for you, put in an application.

To apply, visit http://www.sophiesdogadoption.com/application-forms/adoption-form/ and follow the procedure to obtain an application form.

Lucky Girl

Hello Canada! I’m one Lucky Girl who made it before the upcoming ban, and I’m so grateful.

I’m just a little over a year old, my mix….maybe Doberman, Rottie, or Lab? Whichever I may be, I am super sweet and absolutely gorgeous.

I’m great with other dogs and all people, but I haven’t been tested with cats. There are none iny foster home’s neighborhood to chase after!

I’m desperately looking for a true home I can call mine, as I was rescued as a young girl of 8 months and want to live the true Canadian Experience. The one that all the others have written home about who have come before me!

If you want to give me that life, don’t hesitate to put in your application before someone else does! I’m a gem of a girl.

To apply, visit http://www.sophiesdogadoption.com/application-forms/adoption-form/ and follow the procedure to obtain an application form.

Rosie B

I’m Rosie B, from Beirut. I’m a shepherd mix, about a year old, and rescued from the streets.

I am a little shy at first, but once I know you, I’m very playful and affectionate.

I’m young, so need daily exercise, but not a hyperactive dog. I am crate trained, as a house is fairly new to me, so it helps with my bathroom schedule.

I learn very quickly, love playing with other dogs, I’m fine with cats, and generally love nice people.

If you think I could become a good friend, put in your application!

Windy

My name is Windy, and I’m a one-year-old Lebanese rescue. I’m an alert and lively dog, most likely a husky mix.

I was raised in a free for all environment and as such did not receive much in the way of training, inside or outside the home. It will require patience and alertness on your part to give me structure and boundaries. I’m an early riser and have learned to signal when I need out.

My first attempts at walking on a leash and collar were reasonable but once cats and squirrels were in my eyesight, there was little control with just a leash.  Since then, my foster has been using a Halti as it gives you more control over me.

I’m also reactive to loud noises in the immediate vicinity, such as buses and trucks, as well as dogs on the other side of the street who bark at me.

I love chasing and playing with dogs, but I don’t always know when to quit. I’m also a fan of running after balls and playing fetch.

All in all, I’m a young gal who needs the right environment to thrive and learn. I can counter surf as I’m quite tall, so no food unattended or it will disappear!

I have “snapped” a few times so looking for someone who will truly work with me to understand my needs and work on my general behavior. Everything is so new and different to me, so I’m quite nervous at times.

If you’d like to get to know me, put in an application.

To apply, visit http://www.sophiesdogadoption.com/application-forms/adoption-form/ and follow the procedure to obtain an application form.

Kira B

Hello Canada! I’m newly arrived from Lebanon and loving it so far!

I’ve been named Kira B, and I was rescued after being hit by a car. I was taken to a vet and operated on, however, some permanent nerve damage caused a tilt in my neck. But it makes me even cuter!

I’m good with dogs, cats, and people, but can get a little possessive and protective of my space and stuff (food, bones, human I’m with).

I love car rides and green spaces. I’m about a year old and waiting for that active, loving home.

My breed is totally unknown, your guess is as good as anyones! I’m about 50 lbs.

If you think I could be a good friend, go to http://www.sophiesdogadoption.com/application-forms/adoption-form/ to obtain an application form.

Chiko with a K

I’m Chiko with a K, and I’m a 12-year-old chihuahua mix.

I’ve been given up for the usual reasons, “we’re going through a divorce, my new landlord won’t accept my dog”.

I loved the kids, I’m older than both. They would cuddle and hug me, it was a sad goodbye.

I’m not keen on men….don’t trust them all.

I’m quiet and clean, I just need a routine, food, love, and a comfy bed and I’ll be happy!

If you want to give me that great home for my senior years, go to http://www.sophiesdogadoption.com/application-forms/adoption-form/ and follow the procedure to obtain an application form.

I’m still very healthy and have a few good years still to go. I’ll love you till my last breath!

Maya A

Hello Canada! I arrived from Armenia where I was rescued from Vanadzor, where people are not kind to my species.

I’ve been named Maya A, and I’m about 3 years old.  I’ve always been on my own, so the shelter was overwhelming.

I was given the chance to come to Canada before the ban comes into effect, in order to find someone who will want to share their home with me.

I’m not very big, about 45 lbs, and my breed is unknown. I’m scruffy, I’m a terrier, I’m blond and beautiful. Sophie considers me a pure scruffy mutt!

I get along with other dogs, I’m still very shy, not sure about leash walking, but want to be loved and love you back.

If you think I’m the girl you want to give a warm loving home to, you’ll need to be patient with me.

Start by sending in an application form that you can obtain by following the instructions at www.sophiesdogadoption.com/application-forms/adoption-form

Malika

Bubble

Hi! I’m Bubble and my name suits me!

I’m a bubbly, active, friendly Shih-Tzu mix and I was rescued from the streets of Lebanon.

After the big explosion, people have been having a rough time keeping their dogs, and so I was dumped on the streets.

I’m about 4 years old, and obviously before being abandoned, I was a little spoiled.  I like things my way.

So I’m looking for a structured and quiet home, ideally one person.  I can have attitude and will snap if you push.

However, I’m funny, affectionate and get along with everyone including dogs and cats. But strangers must approach me carefully. I don’t care for fast movements

If you think I could be the guy for you, get the form and send it in!

Toby 8

My name is Toby #8, and I’m looking for a home through no fault of mine.

I’m a 7 year old Chocolate Lab. My dad passed away and my mom is moving into a home where dogs are not allowed.

I am fully vetted and in good health, despite being overweight at the moment.

I’ve been lacking exercise, as dad used to take me for long walks and even running.

I’m good with dogs but have never lived with cats. I’m well behaved, mellow and easy-going.

I love car rides and the outdoors, but I also love to cuddle.

Young or turbulent children are not ideal for me but dog-savvy kids 10 yrs and up would be fine.

If you’re interested in me, please download our adoption form ASAP and send it in.

Rhône

Do you like Chihuahuas? I may be the girl for you. Here’s my story, you decide.

My name is Rhône and unfortunately, my old Mom passed away 3 months ago and I was left orphaned.

I’m 7 years old but rather chubby at 6 lbs. I was 8.8 lbs when I first arrived! You see, Mom never bought me dog food. She’s made a plate for her and one for me. I never left her side, went everywhere with her in a bag, and basically, she was my world.

She couldn’t take me for walks as she was legally blind and couldn’t go far but I would love to go walking around your neighborhood. Due to my eating habits, my teeth were not good but I had a cleaning done and only needed a couple of teeth extracted. My back legs are a bit wobbly from having been obese for so long so I’m looking for someone who will take real good care of me and keep me lean and fit. I am getting around much better now that I’ve lost weight. I can even go up the stairs like a pro and I’m loving my daily walks!

I get along fairly well with the dogs and cats in my foster home. I lived with a cat in my previous home. I do however prefer to be the main attraction. I’m a bit of a Diva you see. I am not suitable for children. I can stay home alone as long as you don’t make a big deal when you leave. If you think we could become BFFs, fill out an application and send it in. I am looking for a very mellow household with a maximum of 2 people .

To apply, visit http://www.sophiesdogadoption.com/application-forms/adoption-form/ and follow the procedure to obtain an application form.

Willy

My name is Willy, and I just arrived from Jordan. You see in my country, dogs are considered pests, not pets!

So after having been rescued from the streets where my brother Dexter and I were living, we were sent to Canada and I ended up with Sophie’s Dog Adoption at the tender age of 8 months, legally allowed to fly!!!

I am in a foster home with dogs of all sizes, a cat and two teenage kids, do I can live pretty much in any kind of home.

If you think I could finish growing up in your home, I’d be super happy and loyal to you for the test of my life.

Send in your application, Sophie is waiting for it!
