Augustina

I’ve now been to the vet and the little warts are nothing worrisome. They are common and will go away on their own. They can be contagious to other dogs but only if I’m in close contact such as wrestling or playing around as they could rupture and that would be how they spread.

I’m a bouncy, energetic, playful and of course somewhat annoying little girl. I’m doing fairly good with the crate training, and with someone to teach me stuff, I would be a quick learner. I’m desperately looking for a foster home, if you have other dogs Sophie can provide little pj’s and t-shirts to prevent the spreading of my warts. So please open your home to me as Sophie has no time to start educating me and the older boys here kind of pick on me. I’m too young for this old crowd.

François

I’m François a 3 year old Shih-tzu Bichon Frisé mix who was dumped by my mom at “grandma’s” house while she went on vacation. I guess she must of met another man as upon her return she decided I was no longer her little man. So she called grandma and basically said keep him, find him a home, do whatever he’s yours now.

They tried for a couple of months, but wanting to make sure I would find a good home they decided to ask Sophie to do so as they had heard how she has found so many wonderful homes for guys like me.

So I need a foster home and eventually of course a loving permanent home. I’m very gentle, quiet, friendly and seem to like everything and everyone. However Sophie was told that I’m an ankle biter but I haven’t done any of that since I arrived last night. But from what I hear Sophie will put her foot down and show me that it is unacceptable behavior.

Cocolita

My name is Cocolita and I’m a wonderful little girl who has been so spoiled that I have become a bit of a princess. I’m about two years old, a Maltese, all white and fluffy and cute as a button.

I’m now looking for a new home because my previous mom didn’t really have any time for me anymore. She had given me away, but that family ended up sending me back after many months. I guess my cuteness wasn’t enough to make me a keeper.

I am really sweet, very friendly, affectionate but I need a very structured lifestyle. To give you an idea my mom had told Sophie that I wasn’t good in the car because I want to be the one that drives. Of course Sophie didn’t let me drive and I have started to learn new rules. Please be my new family and help me turn into a sweet dog and not continue to spoil me rotten.

Ti-Gallop

I’m Ti-Gallop and you can find my original story here: http://www.adoptapet.com/pet2904535.html

I’ve been in the same foster home since I arrived last Fall and I have learned that I’m no longer King.

I still have a bit of a bossy side to me, but since I am now structured and have rules, I have learned to respect authority and no longer bite when thins don’t go my way.

I love my foster home and they absolutely adore me but are students in a roommate situation and neither of them are in a position to commit for the next ten years. It will break their hearts when I leave but will be thrilled to know I’m getting a good home. So please make them happy by offering me that loving home.

Coconut

I’m Coconut the big Shih-tzu mix who came to Sophie’s Dog Adoption about a month ago looking for a new home. I was quite popular and after serious screening, my potential home was found.

I went to meet them all today and I like them so much that I asked if I could spend the night. Sophie said yes and because I had not yet been neutered due to a shortage of appointments, she will pick me up tomorrow night and will return me from the chop-chop shop just in time for my new brother’s birthday. He will get his birthday gift, I will get my adoption goody bag, and what a party we’re going to have. I’m counting the nights until that celebration day.

Update: My adoption was finalized Tuesday and I arrived pulling Sophie out of the car leading the way with my goody bag.

Petey

This is Petey once again! I have found my next foster home and moved in today, hopefully until I finally get that loving family that I am searching for.

I really am a charmer, everyone who has known me so far has totally fallen in love with me. Unfortunately, of all the people I’ve met, none of those were looking to adopt a dog. I’m just so irresistible I can’t figure out why no one is inquiring about me.

Luna 2

My name is Luna 2, I’m a four month old Pug Beagle mix who came to Sophie’s Dog Adoption two months ago with my sister Mona. Mona was adopted last month and my adoption was finalized tonight and I will be going home with a cone around my head as I was spayed today.

The next few days I will have to remain calm, but I can’t wait to be able to play with all my new toys that were in my adoption goody bag.

JayJay

I’m JayJay the two year old Poodle, and I’ve been around for about a month already. I’ve been in a foster home since my arrival, but unfortunately I’m now looking for a new one.

The reason has nothing to do with me, that’s just how the cookie crumbles. I’m a great little guy but can be quite barky, as most Poodles are, so a foster home with now immediate neighbors would be best.

Ideally I would need a new place by this week-end or I may end up at Sophie’s with the big Boy who doesn’t like yippie dogs.

Jika

Sophie does it once again! She has found me, Jika, a foster home by the end of the week-end as she had hoped. This will limit the further confusion of moving back “home” for a few days, moving into a foster home, to then move again into a permanent home.

As well, it will be less emotional for everyone and will be less time consuming to continue working on my issues with one foster home.

My week-end away was very positive as my evaluation and assessment showed, once again, that I am a great girl and have allot of potential for working through my leash aggression.

This new foster home knows Shelties, has learned through Sophie how to be alpha and show me who’s in charge so I should keep getting better during my stay with them.

I’m looking for a permanent home who will know how to keep me structured and level headed so that I continue to grow and learn how to become a model citizen while out on walks.

Despite this minor setback when encountering other dogs on leash, I really do enjoy the company of other dogs in an off leash environment. I do play in a bit of a dominant way, could be perceived as a bit of a bully if they ignore me but will back off if other dogs get annoyed by me.

Because I’m a new arrival, if I was to find a permanent home shortly, it would be better to be in a family with no children. Hopefully, as my training goes along it will help determine if I in fact like kids.

What I can tell you is that during my week-end, I got to meet 9 different cats and was great with all. I tried annoying the family Pitbull, he told me off and I totally respected him. He was the pack leader and made sure I knew where my place was. What a gentle man he was, he was very polite in explaining the rules and with a smile like his how could you not respect him.

Fritz 2

My name is Fritz 2, I’m a two year old Wiener dog (Daschund) who came to Sophie’s Dog Adoption after snapping at the family kids.

I got pretty lucky because I went to a foster home who was looking to adopt one of us sausage dogs. So after two weeks in my foster home, they decided that I was a keeper.

I was officially adopted tonight and have become the newest family member. I even have a new sister who looks just like me, you could think we were twins.

I’m so happy and love them all so much.

Youshi

This is Youshi the young Yorkie mix who was recently adopted. I have a new name, Henry, and a wonderful new family who adores me.

They just sent Sophie and update to tell her that I am absolutely perfect for them. I had a few accidents in the beginning, but I have taken on to the routine and adjusted to my new life very quickly. They give me daily exercise, structure, discipline and of course lots of love. I have proven to be very mellow and a charm to be around. They don’t understand how two families could of given me up.

Jameka

Hi I’m Jameka, the black Chihuahua found as a stray out near Laval. It sure looks like in fact dumped there, because no one seemed to look for me.

It doesn’t matter, because I already found a wonderful home. I now have a new (sister), Emmy, who is a Japanese Spaniel. I have lots of beds around the house to choose from as well a bunch of new toys to play with. I really hope to grow old in my new home.

Rocket

I finally left Sophie’s place for a foster home with possibility of adoption. I went to the dog event thing today and charmed everyone.

Now I’m gonna play the cute card hoping that my potential new family will fall head over heels for me. I have such a great personality and I’m such a charmer despite a couple of tiny bad habits that if I make goo goo eyes they will just have to love me.

Askim

When people ask my name the response is Askim. That’s my name, Askim. I was in a 9 month old mix possibly Ridgeback and no one knows anything about me, as I was found roaming the streets. Despite the fact that i was very skinny, I’m filling out and turning into a stunning dog.

I run like a gazelle, play very gently with other dogs and think cats are really cute. Kids of all ages are my buddies so ideally a home that has all of the above would make me happy.

I’m unfortunately changing foster homes again, but an application was received today for me so I’m crossing my toes. So you cross your fingers and toes for me and hope that this will be my future home.

Babe

Remember me Babe, the seven week old deaf puppy who had reconstructive surgery? Well I’m now almost six month old and will be going to my new home next week. I was officially adopted tonight and can’t wait to move into my new home. Despite my handicap, I have made outstanding progress in learning to understand signs and body language.

My potential is huge and I’m looking forward to learning more and having a great life. I hope I get to go swimming allot as I just love playing in water. For all those who think I should of been put down, even though it took several months, Sophie knew there was someone out there for me.

Sunshine and the 7 Rays

I’m Sunshine the young mom who was found with my 7 newborn puppies. My little Rays are almost seven weeks old and are now quite active, they are huge and have become quite a handful and are driving me and my foster mom crazy.

We are now looking for foster homes who can take my little ones in pairs, as it is too much for one person to handle all seven. This will help with their socialization until they are old enough to leave the nest for good.

I have four boys: Rayko, Raymond, Raylen, Rayven and three girls: Raylee, Raynelle, Rayann and they are all absolutely gorgeous.

You can see more pictures of the puppies taken from their foster homes on Facebook.

Noushka

Went to work with Noushka the three-legged Shepherd that came from Lebanon in her potential forever home on some of her issues while walking on leash. Of course she was on her best behavior most of the walk but displayed some of her fears which should be resolved with a little work on the family’s part. If all continues to go well she should have her home shortly.
