Chewbacca (ACDC)

My real name is Chewbacca, even though ACDC was a pretty cool name. I’m in fact three years old and tonight I was reunited with my human Dad. He had been looking for me since the 28th when I snapped my makeshift leash by chasing a squirrel.

Even though the Berger Blanc is useless, the Montreal SPCA came through for me by giving out Sophie’s number when they got a call about me having been lost on Mount-Royal. I was so happy I howled my little head off and danced around with joy.

Raymond

Two down five to go. I’m Raymond, the second one of Sunshine’s 7 Rays to get officially adopted. I went to my new home tonight where my playmates are three cats a one, three and twenty year old cats. The two younger cats should enjoy playing with me, just hope the old one is not going to be grumpy in whack me to much.

Now I’m hoping my sister Raynelle will be the next one to be adopted as she is now left all by herself.

Squeaky

This is Squeaky and I was rescued by Sophie back in November (2009) and I’m thrilled to tell the world that I finally found my new home.

I was a scrawny little thing who had been abused. I’m now a little over 2 years old and have filled out and turned into an absolutely gorgeous Pitbull.

Despite the fact that I had been beaten with chains by my previous owner and had become so scared I was put on death row, I have never shown aggression and remained faithful to the human race. I will now have two loving humans and a doggy sister to fill my life with happiness.

Boy

Well I’m back with my original foster mom for a while, but I’m still looking. She agreed to take me out of Sophie’s place, mostly to help her out and to also give me a chance to reduce my stress as well as give me somewhat of a normal life. Being at Sophie’s is ok, but it’s taking it’s toll on me as she has very little time.

However my foster mom now lives in a very small apartment and I have to share it with the two cats. The place is so tiny that stretching out means taking up half the floor space, plus she lives in a very dog friendly building and with my leash aggression problem it may be a daily challenge for her when we encounter the neighbor dogs.

So if someone else with a bigger space, less dogs around and time to walk me regularly can come through for me it would be good for the both of us.

Rayven

I’m Rayven one of Sunshine’s 7 Rays, the first little boy to be officially adopted. My foster mom, who had adopted Havana from Sophie, absolutely fell in love with me.

Even though I really look like mom, my big sister Havana is in fact mistaken for my mom as we look very similar. I hope all my brothers and sisters find a good home soon and maybe some of us will be able to get together for play dates.

Francis

Yay! I’m adopted! I’m Francis the two year old Pug who got lucky as I went into a foster home who was interested in possibly adopting me.

Since I’m such a great boy, charming and funny, after living with me for a couple of weeks they knew we could never part.

They love me, I love them and I’m such a little clown that I hope to brighten up all their days.

Tyson 4 – In September

Please someone come through for me… I’m getting restless, stressed out, extremely bored and depressed. Sophie came to spend some time with me today and she noticed how much muscle mass I have lost as I’m not getting any exercise.

Sophie is really sad to see me in this situation but she’s helpless right now. There is no way I can return to her place as the city inspector tried to reach her again this week asking for proof of my execution, to which she replied she would go to jail before killing me based on that crazy letter he pulled out of his …

Im in a very safe place right now but this is the best she can do. If funds were available, she could find me a nice boarding facility where I would get playtime, long walks, daily exercise and people to hug and kiss me.

Augustina

I’ve now been to the vet and the little warts are nothing worrisome. They are common and will go away on their own. They can be contagious to other dogs but only if I’m in close contact such as wrestling or playing around as they could rupture and that would be how they spread.

I’m a bouncy, energetic, playful and of course somewhat annoying little girl. I’m doing fairly good with the crate training, and with someone to teach me stuff, I would be a quick learner. I’m desperately looking for a foster home, if you have other dogs Sophie can provide little pj’s and t-shirts to prevent the spreading of my warts. So please open your home to me as Sophie has no time to start educating me and the older boys here kind of pick on me. I’m too young for this old crowd.

ACDC

Remember the Beagle found on Mount-Royal? Well that’s me and nobody seems to be looking for me. I’ve been named ACDC, as when I was found, I had part of an electrical cord still tied to my collar.

I’m about two years old, my grandpa may have been a Bassett Hound since I have a very deep voice. I’m very well socialized, well behaved, friendly with people, enjoy the company of other dogs (but a little dominant as I’m not fixed yet) and very street wise.

When I ride in the car I love to stand on the door and have my whole head out the window letting my ears flap in the wind. I’ve been good with the gang at Sophie’s and I’m now looking for a foster home and will be going up for adoption by next week if I’m still “lost”.

Levi 3

I’m Levi 3, a stunning five year old male Shepherd and after being adopted two years ago by what Sophie thought would turn out to be a wonderful family for me, I was given one hour to be picked up by Sophie or my family was bringing me to the SPCA.

You see, I’m a Shepherd and therefore very protective of my home and family. They knew this when they adopted me and had told Sophie they would work on this to make me more accepting of people entering my house. However, despite the numerous attempts to offer help and guidance, they claimed that the issue was getting resolved, that I was a wonderful boy and in fact didn’t mind this protective side of me.

Unfortunately my family split up and a new girlfriend came into the home. I’m not sure exactly what went wrong, but this new girlfriend called Sophie’s Dog Adoption tonight, claiming I had bit someone and if she did not take me back immediately they would bring me to the SPCA and ask that I be euthanized.

You can bet Sophie got in her car and I am now safe and sound. Thankfully she was not going to let this new girlfriend who obviously didn’t like me let my Dad have me killed because he didn’t know or care enough to work with me. You know what? I really didn’t like this new chick anyway I deserve better than that. So please give me my 3rd and final home, work with me on this over protective issue on my turf and I will be your most loyal, faithful companion.

François

I’m François a 3 year old Shih-tzu Bichon Frisé mix who was dumped by my mom at “grandma’s” house while she went on vacation. I guess she must of met another man as upon her return she decided I was no longer her little man. So she called grandma and basically said keep him, find him a home, do whatever he’s yours now.

They tried for a couple of months, but wanting to make sure I would find a good home they decided to ask Sophie to do so as they had heard how she has found so many wonderful homes for guys like me.

So I need a foster home and eventually of course a loving permanent home. I’m very gentle, quiet, friendly and seem to like everything and everyone. However Sophie was told that I’m an ankle biter but I haven’t done any of that since I arrived last night. But from what I hear Sophie will put her foot down and show me that it is unacceptable behavior.

Cocolita

My name is Cocolita and I’m a wonderful little girl who has been so spoiled that I have become a bit of a princess. I’m about two years old, a Maltese, all white and fluffy and cute as a button.

I’m now looking for a new home because my previous mom didn’t really have any time for me anymore. She had given me away, but that family ended up sending me back after many months. I guess my cuteness wasn’t enough to make me a keeper.

I am really sweet, very friendly, affectionate but I need a very structured lifestyle. To give you an idea my mom had told Sophie that I wasn’t good in the car because I want to be the one that drives. Of course Sophie didn’t let me drive and I have started to learn new rules. Please be my new family and help me turn into a sweet dog and not continue to spoil me rotten.

Ti-Gallop

I’m Ti-Gallop and you can find my original story here: http://www.adoptapet.com/pet2904535.html

I’ve been in the same foster home since I arrived last Fall and I have learned that I’m no longer King.

I still have a bit of a bossy side to me, but since I am now structured and have rules, I have learned to respect authority and no longer bite when thins don’t go my way.

I love my foster home and they absolutely adore me but are students in a roommate situation and neither of them are in a position to commit for the next ten years. It will break their hearts when I leave but will be thrilled to know I’m getting a good home. So please make them happy by offering me that loving home.

Coconut

I’m Coconut the big Shih-tzu mix who came to Sophie’s Dog Adoption about a month ago looking for a new home. I was quite popular and after serious screening, my potential home was found.

I went to meet them all today and I like them so much that I asked if I could spend the night. Sophie said yes and because I had not yet been neutered due to a shortage of appointments, she will pick me up tomorrow night and will return me from the chop-chop shop just in time for my new brother’s birthday. He will get his birthday gift, I will get my adoption goody bag, and what a party we’re going to have. I’m counting the nights until that celebration day.

Update: My adoption was finalized Tuesday and I arrived pulling Sophie out of the car leading the way with my goody bag.

Petey

This is Petey once again! I have found my next foster home and moved in today, hopefully until I finally get that loving family that I am searching for.

I really am a charmer, everyone who has known me so far has totally fallen in love with me. Unfortunately, of all the people I’ve met, none of those were looking to adopt a dog. I’m just so irresistible I can’t figure out why no one is inquiring about me.

Augustina

I’m Augustina a three month old black Labrador, I arrived at Sophie’s Dog Adoption early this morning. I’m not sure how I ended up alone on a country road out in the middle of no where as I was probably sleeping when I was dumped by whoever brought me out there.

I’m not sure why someone did this to me, but I assume it may have to do with small warts that are appearing all over my little body.

So when the “dog catcher” in Huntingdon caught me, he knew he couldn’t bring me to the local pound as it would be an automatic death sentence. You see, in Quebec dog pounds, if you have any booboos, illnesses or injuries you become a death row inmate but your misery doesn’t end until your death sentence arrives. You never get to see a vet to make you feel better, you just sit in a cage until the vet is scheduled to put you out of your misery or worst yet stick you in a gas chamber.

As I arrived on a Sunday, I will be going to the vet tomorrow to see what it is, but Sophie is pretty sure it will not be anything serious. Obviously I now need a foster home, one with no pets in case these little warts are contagious (which in most cases often are). Of course all medication and treatments needed will be supplied to the foster home.

Raymond & Raynelle

Raymond & Raynelle back at Sophie’s until someone can take us in. We spent two days with someone who started teaching us stairs, going outside and we’re attempting walking on a leash.

We’re both growing, are becoming very playful but that also means we are becoming a handful. Ideally we would still need to be fostered together, unless two foster homes with adult dogs who can teach us the ropes could be good as well.
